    Suicidal

Thanks very much for your honesty. If I understand correctly, you were on daily Clonazepam for 4 years? It's strange as the ENT in Harley Street London pumps that stuff out for fun for severe tinnitus. I think Diazepam is the lesser of two evils?

Antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOs, TCAs, TeCAs)

Why the Aripiprazole if you don't mind asking? I read that it can help with OCD.

REVIEW: Round and Oval Window Reinforcement Surgery for Hyperacusis — The Silverstein Institute

Yep, Clonazepam basically and I take some others. They help sometimes but sometimes not. After the last setback it does not seem to help at all. It's frustrating that there is no way to alleviate the pain.

From Klonopin (Clonazepam) Induced Horrors of Tinnitus and Hyperacusis to Approaching a Better State

@BrysonKingMe, I agree with you. I also took Clonazepam and it was a terrible drug. I did not know about benzodiazepines until after I started the drug prescribed by my doctor. Your assessment of what it does to the central nervous system is correct. I think my tinnitus initially started after I...

    Alcohol Quiets Down My Tinnitus

I don't disagree but it's only a bit short of feeling like a miracle if you're in the high-benefit group. I feel like Clonazepam mediates the response more than the volume and pitch, though, and Gabapentin seems to, when combined with Clonazepam, tamp down on volume and pitch a bit, too. It's...

    Tinnitus and Valium (Diazepam)

Yes, I get through about 45 mg diazepam a month and 5 mg of Clonazepam.

Retigabine (Trobalt, Potiga) — General Discussion

Clonazepam is strong benzo, 1mg clonazepam = 20mg diazepam, drop should be 10% per week. Schedule 6. Withdrawal from clonazepam (Klonopin) 3mg daily with substitution of diazepam (Valium). (1 mg clonazepam is equivalent to 20mg diazepam) MorningMidday/AfternoonEvening/NightDaily Diazepam...

    Clonazepam (Klonopin, Rivotril)

My ENT consultant advised me of the risks of dependency if Clonazepam is taken regularly. Fortunately this hasn't affected me in 12 years and hopefully this will continue.

How to Cope with Irregular Tinnitus Sounds?

...consider the pharmaceutical route. Personally, I take a daily combination of Mirtazapine, Gabapentin, Magnesium, and Alpha-lipoic acid. When my symptoms are very severe, I add clonazepam for a day or two. If your sister hasn't yet seen an audiologist or ENT, that should be done as a routine...

@Ant315 hey! Sorry for delayed response haven’t been on here. I’m on clonazepam from my neurologist, made my T fade into background not even a bother anymore. However, I still have my constant pulsatile tinnitus which is not really a noise is just a feeling of pulsing in my ear so having...

    Clonazepam (Klonopin, Rivotril)

Yes, I saw Dr. Bance. He suggested, given I'd had some success with Clonazepam, to try a 3 month course of 0.5 mg a day. He quoted the fact many are on it all their life for epilepsy with no issues. However, he advised his preferred routes of Gabapentin and Carbamazepine. You may recall I have...

...with my mom since I’ve reverted back to a toddler with this condition. She literally puts me to sleep at night. I’m waiting for this Clonazepam to kick in and am getting nervous that it isn’t. Wondering if the Grandaxin caused some kind of crossover tolerance. I haven’t taken the clonazepam...

    Clonazepam (Klonopin, Rivotril)

A lot of people take Clonazepam for years with no issues. If you come off gradually, then there really isn’t an issue. It’s when you stop cold turkey that it’s a problem and even then, if you’re only taking like 1 mg, nothing will happen.

Sudden Hearing Loss Gave Me Tinnitus and Took My Life Away

I just wanted to update you: Clonazepam is amazing. I didn't want to take it, but I had a rubbish day, and my head was roaring. I wasn't sure it would even do anything because, in the past, I had Diazepam, and it did nothing. I thought, at best, it would maybe make me not care about the noise...

From Tinnitus Success Story to Square One After Playing Drums

Quick update, 2.5 months since onset: I’ve been feeling much better since I started taking clonazepam (coincidence? Probably). Last night, I went to sleep and literally forgot to play my cricket sounds—I slept all night in complete silence. Right now, I’m in a quiet room, and all I hear is...

    Suicidal

:huganimation: @BrysonKingMe, it will improve, it must! You will be glad you didn't take your life but endured the suffering. You stopped taking the Clonazepam on Monday? I hope the reactivity lessens in a couple of weeks.

    Clonazepam (Klonopin, Rivotril)

Hello Nick, I had positive experience with Clonazepam 0.125 mg + Gabapentin 300 mg per day. I tried this for a short period, like 5 days, and it works. I was tempted to try the Deanxit + Clonazepam combo prescribed to me so I stopped the Gabapentin and switched to Deanxit. I upped my Clonazepam...

Antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOs, TCAs, TeCAs)

Yes, clonazepam is addictive, like all benzodiazepines, but clonazepam is probably less addictive due to its long half-life, and doctors often switch patients to clonazepam from other benzos to wean people off benzodiazepines.

Antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOs, TCAs, TeCAs)

Thank you, @Nick47! I was reading about NMDA receptor antagonists and how they could potentially help with tinnitus, and I know Ketamine falls under that umbrella. It’s unfortunate that Bupropion can aggravate tinnitus. Our community cannot win on anything.

In Loving Memory of Brian Jordan Pariente (Brian P)

@Frayact, Brian started to take Clonazepam, just 4 weeks, very low dosage. He stopped it cold turkey and shortly after he started to experience nasty withdrawal symptoms (hallucinations, as far as I remember). Then he reinstated Clonazepam for 6 weeks and tapered. I recall him saying that while...

@Leila on a good note after taking 0.5mg of Clonazepam as a last resort slowly over Thurs afternoon I calmed down, slept great and had a whole day the next day of feeling 90% normal.
