Abstract
Self-help patient fora are widely used for information acquisition and exchange of experiences, e.g., on the effects of medical treatments for a disease. However, a new patient may have difficulties in getting a fast overview of the information inside a large forum. We propose TinnitusTreatmentMonitor, a prototype tool for the summarization and sentiment characterization of postings on medical treatments. We report on applying TinnitusTreatmentMonitor on the platform TinnitusTalk, a self-help platform for tinnitus patients.

Hey @Steve and @Markku,
I was skimming the TINNET website today and came across with these news.

Btw Thessaloniki is my hometown.

Congratulations! Will you tell us more about this TinnitusTreatmentMonitor? Is there any reference in the forum that I missed? Sounds like good news.

Thanks @vermillion! Great to see some have a keen eye :) A lot of the kudos deservedly go to Myra and her students and Rüdiger who fantastically presented the paper at the ICBHI.

There is no reference to the TinnitusTreatmentMonitor here - it's an early version program and not polished for the average visitor. It is our wish of course that it evolves from the prototype to something more.

In simplistic terms it allows monitoring discussed treatments, their activity level over time, etc. As an example, you can check the keyword "am-101", see where it's been discussed, how the activity of discussions has varied over time etc.
