Disagree with what? What's your point in the first place? My message was not even for you.

What I am trying very hard to do is to just make it through today, some days even this small goal can seem impossible. I want my before tinnitus life back, but if this isn't how my story is going to end, then what should I do? Until a cure is found, and I do believe that this will happen, I need to be able to cope.

Accepting this bully is not about giving up, it is about living my life. I have far too many years ahead of me. I have people who love me and depend on me to be there for them. I want to live my best possible life, even it that means living with tinnitus.

Well then why did you reply to me? Just saying it's pretty obvious the hate comes from the fact we post memes that some people disagree with, like our views on habituation. It's not just you btw there's a ton of people who seem to dislike MPP for that reason alone.

      ...

My initial message was not for you.
I then replied to your "you have been exposed" message that is absolute nonsense to me.
Anyway this is going nowhere, forget that.

I see you got your tinnitus from driving a truck.
Just wondered, when you tell people how your habituation is a cure.
Do you call it :"The Truck Story"?

Someone's butthurt. My apologies... to the mentally challenged. Must be hard to be compared to you.

You’re ridiculous. Using the term “mentally challenged” as an insult just makes you sound uneducated.

Also, I wasn’t aware that anyone over the age of 12 said “butthurt”...

You just sound butthurt, I do not know any other way to say it in English.
And I did not use it as an insult, I have actually a lot of respect for most of mentally challenged people.

No what I am is annoyed that people are still using mentally challenged as an insult. It’s 2018 for god’s sake.

And that, ladies and gentleman, is the reason people who are better and feel habituated to Tinnitus don't come here as often as they could. ;)

      Roy,

Don't pay attention to the lurking creatures here, I think you'll be ok like most of the people.
If this helps - my T is gone, maybe not for long but if a noise induced T can go away after 3 months then everything is possible (when everybody told me the oposite).

If you need real support for your T - get outside and live - there is noting different about you. Cure is on the way and believe me - when its out, everyone will know. Don't spend too much time on the internet and give yourself a break from regret.

Young but strong, you should be proud

Thank you for sharing your story. Knowing that you made it over a year is encouraging. The first month was so terrible. It was such a dark time.

You've got the right attitude. I know you're going to come out on top.

Has your t changed at all over the time you've had it?

I don't feel like my T changed at all. There are times where it seems to be louder or quieter but overall it stays around the same. This week has actually been pretty good. I was able to have fun with my friends and not let it bother me as much as it normally does. I hope this is the beginning of a big improvement in my life. Also I see that your tinnitus is pretty new. Don't worry about it now because it actually does get better. I've felt so down at times, even depressed. But right now I'm in a pretty good place. Its not all bad even though it may seem that way at first.

We had some people over last night and I survived but barely. t is still my main focus.

Thank you for the encouragement. It hits us so hard when we first get it and we don't know what to expect and it snowballs.

I'm glad you're in a good place. I'm moving toward that but will need some time to say that with confidence.

How old are you? Also, have you tried hearing aids? If I had sound distortion, I would ask my audiologist to recommend me some... I saw somewhere that IT is actually good having hearing aids for hyperacusis and tinnitus... Don't know about sound distortion though.. but , I would try IT...
Also, I would Like to say one more thing. I was a passionate music listener. I knew lyrics and music from every song... It was a cure for my anxiety and depression .. I felt good after music. Just the feeling of Pleasure reduced immensley the anxiety from Being alone and unwanted in society. However , I would usually experience Jaw pain, which I attributed to my subluxation of jaw. Oh I was soooo wrong. Actually , IT were my ears all along sending me signals that my hearing is deteriorating. I was so stupid. I wish I was an alcoholic.. Liver somehow Always survives, but cochlea not so much. :D

The first few months are definitely the most difficult. Its the anxiety, the fear of it becoming worse, the fear of having to deal with this the rest of our lives and even the feeling of loneliness. The fact is, it almost never becomes worse by itself unless we damage our ears even more. We won't have to live with this for the rest of our lives, a cure will most likely be found within the next 5-10 years. And we are NOT alone. There are so many people that have tinnitus, even people close to you might have it but refuse to talk about it. Thats the part that makes us feel alone, people don't want to talk about something like tinnitus. Luckily we have this forum, where we can actually share our stories and help eachother through this.

You will feel alot better about this, it just takes a while, but it will happen. Try to focus on dealing with this condition until a cure is found, so you can tell yourself this made you a stronger person afterwards.

Don't hesitate to contact me whenever you need help or just want to talk about it. With the risk of making this sound like a cheesy high school musical quote, we're all in this together.

Thank you for your support. I thought I was doing well getting through the first few months and starting to move forward but I've gone back a bit. I did have a noise exposure last week that turned my h up and left my ears feeling fuller than usual. Hopefully I just need a little time.

I appreciate the offer to talk. I may take you up on it one day.

Please give it some time. I was very anxious when I first got t three months ago and it's gotten better since initial onset. Focus on remaining as calm as you can. Things will get better in time.
