ADM Tronics subsidiary, Aurex International Corporation, prepares to launch new hearing protection product - Tinnitus Shield™

NORTHVALE, N.J., Feb. 1, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- ADM Tronics Unlimited, Inc. (OTCQB: ADMT), a technology-based developer and manufacturer of innovative technologies has authorized its subsidiary, Aurex International Corporation ("AIC") to begin advertising its new hearing protection product, Tinnitus Shield™ in "Tinnitus Today" - the official publication of the American Tinnitus Association.

What makes Tinnitus Shield™ unique is that it has been specifically designed to protect against damaging sounds shown to cause tinnitus (ringing in the ears) for individuals at risk of acquiring this condition. These include military, police, musicians, construction workers and many other occupations subject to Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL).

According to UN's World Health Organization ("WHO"), "Some 1.1 billion teenagers and young adults are at risk of hearing loss due to unsafe use of personal audio devices…and exposure to damaging levels of sound at noisy entertainment venues. Exposure to loud sounds can result in temporary hearing loss or tinnitus. When the exposure is particularly loud, regular or prolonged, it can lead to permanent damage of the ear's sensory cells, resulting in irreversible hearing loss." One recommendation by WHO is for young people to regularly use hearing protection.

The US Veterans Health Administration ("VA") reports that tinnitus is the most prevalent combat-related disability affecting veterans, making it a high-priority healthcare issue facing the military and the VA. It is a condition the public is becoming much more aware of, causing numerous companies to advertise various remedies to address this problem.

While Tinnitus Shield™ has been specifically engineered to protect against the sounds which may cause tinnitus, AIC also plans to bring to market Aurex-3®, a patented, non-invasive therapy technology for the treatment and control of tinnitus. (Bold mine)

Heading up AIC is CEO Mark Brenner, BSc, PhD., who draws upon years of experience serving the tinnitus market in the United Kingdom. Brenner brings with him the vision and resources necessary to set in motion the launching and distribution of Aurex-3 throughout the US and Europe. For these reasons, the company believes that under Dr. Brenner's leadership and guidance, both AIC technologies can effectively penetrate this burgeoning market.

"The potential market for effective technologies that addresses the tinnitus marketplace is significant, considering the millions and millions of sufferers in the US and worldwide," stated Andre' DiMino, President of ADMT.

Dr. Brenner commented, "AIC is now able to offer the full spectrum of support to the worldwide tinnitus community with its Tinnitus Shield, providing protection from noise induced tinnitus, and the Aurex-3, as an active treatment and management system for those who have developed tinnitus. This is receiving great interest in the UK where we are actively working with The Tinnitus Clinic, a group of specialist tinnitus clinics. In the US we have active discussions with the American Tinnitus Association."

I KNEW that this would be trashed by a member just not this fast, lol.

No problem, no offense intended. :)

Their ear-protection plugs, Tinnitus Shield, is now being pre-ordered and shipping in three weeks, costs 80 dollars, and looks to be as good or better than custom made earplugs that cost many hundreds of dollars.

The other device, Aurex 3, is not out yet, and it's a non-invasive technology to train the mind to not produce tinnitus sounds - at least that's what I thought after reading the white paper about it.

Frankly, I'm very, very excited by both these products, especially the Aurex 3: Aurex3 uses a phase shift bone conduction treatment method which identifies and treats the tinnitus noises generated inside your cochlea

Given that there appears to be no evidence of effectiveness, this topic seems more appropriate for "Alternative Treatments".

I saw that too. The only problem is that current thinking is that 'tinnitus noises' are generated in the brain, not in the cochlea.

This company has been working on the device for over 20 years, and seem to be onto something that they believe is effective, and safe. I won't pretend to understand even 1% of the science behind this, but the company is very supportive of the ATA and the BTA, so I have high hopes.

I think it is confusing to talk about this "Tinnitus Shield" and "Aurex 3" in the same topic, as they're two different products, and hence I merged your new thread with an older thread about Aurex 3, and renamed the subject to remove the mention about Tinnitus Shield. Feel welcome to create another thread about Tinnitus Shield.

Being supportive of the two major tinnitus organizations is good business practice when you're pushing a product for tinnitus sufferers. Advertising in ATA's magazine makes sense. Companies such as Neuromonics have supported ATA by being corporate members. Restored Hearing has supported BTA.

@Steve, I read keywords like "amplitude modulation" etc. here, what are your thoughts on this?

I remember seeing Aurex 3 when I first got tinnitus. The principle sounds interesting to play with, if I've picked it up correctly from the very brief information they have presented.

Being that it's been around for so long I would expect to see some sort of data, a small trial or presentation of something from their own studies or doctor feedback. It doesn't fill me with hope that there seems to be absolute zero.

It allows you to put your head in the cloud! :woot: Better in the cloud than in the sand! :)

It is supported by no other than BTA, ATA and... TINNET?! Who knows... maybe it works. If Michigan and Minnesota can toy with devices for tinnitus treatment, why not these guys? The more the merrier!

AMTD trades @0.17 - that's seventeen cents and it's down over 10% in the last month. In the last five years the high was 0.26. It had 4 trades on Friday of just over 3,000 dollars where 2 were sells. There's no investment by any asset funds. The CEO wears all the management hats.

      Hi
I just ordered a set of those ear plugs they could be good for work and car travel...
talked to the company today and they are going through FDA approval so the device could be on the market in 8 months for about $500.00 it sounds promising but from what I understand is for noise induced tinnitus.
the ear plugs sound a reasonable price...
