      Buff history here. Lets not go there. We all know how many thousands of American soldiers (my uncle included) died at the front lines on the beaches or Normandy. (Utah, Omaha, Juno, Gold and Sword.) to name some.. Yes Great Britain and Canada and USA fought together. At the time Great Britain lost France and was under-siege .. ugly battle for all involved. .... ANYWAYS........Lets get back to the subject... as it pertains.

      On "their end" they did, they fought tremendously to defend themselves... They did nothing for France. And that's the end of my comments on this subject unless you want to talk it on PM's ...as I said, I do enjoy history tremendously especially WWI and WWII... (You should see my bookshelves! ) But that's conversation for a history forum... although discussing it makes me forget about T!!!! :) So I guess that is good. Picking my brain! :p

      Guess you have to stay on Trobalt then? Considering there aren't many more choices left.

      Hi all and forgive my ignorance;

      i have received an email by this forum few days ago and even on the main page there is a comunication about the failure of this drug. My question would be; how is possible to establish that a drug, so new and in developement, have already failed?
      how do scientists to have this certainty after such a short time ? thx

      Thank You @erik . I don't have the possibility to connect and watch more news. I remained at the point that they were enrolling suffers because it was promising. It is a punch in the stomach for me because even if it was not imminent but it sound more better than the prescription of cipralex that i got in those days by my ent.

      p.s. I'm doing the trt retraining therapy by more than 2 years and now... ironically i have developed another tinnitus on the right side! really really disappointed

      thank you

      I still think this pill would have helped at least some of us on here...we didn't stand a fighting chance ...alot of talk before about hidden hearing loss...so if the trial for that isn't cancelled and goes to market ,wonder if we will have to be 60 to get the pill,?maybe once the loss is better the tinnitus will get better!!!!!

      Just venting out loud, but it sure would be nice if the powers that be would allow people in desperate need to try a medication before it's officially approved. We have states in the US that allow Dr. assisted suicide, so why not allow one try a med like Aut or SF, if one shows enough desperation? We have numerous people in our T community who either commit suicide, or seriously contemplate it, so what's the harm in letting some try an experimental med, as long as they indemnify the manufacturer? I'd risk trying Aut, at a higher dose than 800mg, and for a longer duration perhaps. Sure, it may not work, but the rats received a higher dose than the trial members. Too much litigation and gov oversight/control IMHO. In fairness, there are some terminal patients who get to receive experimental meds in the US, I just wish that program would be expanded for people like us.

      Because technically we arent immediately dying from tinnitus...and they dont give a @#$% about complications from tinnitus suffering, i.e. if a person ideates suicide on a daily basis for 10 years, what do you think is happening to his insides?

      If they approve it for hearing loss, then wouldn't some people on here be able to get it at there doctor if they have loss?
      If the hearing loss is made better with it then so would the tinnitus?!

      They have been promising effective treatments using the model you describe above for a long time. Again, the capitalist approach to drug discovery is a very good business model but not very good for the sufferer.
      Excluding preventative measures, I think expecting a pill to reverse tinnitus is foolish.
      A ceiling has already been reached in what can be done with chemical intervention as evidenced buy the enormous amount of money poured into trials (such as this) and the disturbingly poor yield, and that is why science is shifting to the study of the stem cell.

      As for the tinfoil hat stuff, who do you think invests into these ventures? These people have inside information, is it that much of a jump to imagine they place their financial interests (often tied to long term portfolios) ahead of furthering the science? This is very similar to the SSRI situation, its not an exact science, and they are pissing away money on mickey mouse drug trials wasting time. I don't have any faith in pharma, I anxiously wait to stand corrected, although I might be standing for while. My worry is our generation will pause their suspicion into these drug companies and we will all suffer as a result.

      Hopefully whoever was in charge of this trial gets the bullet. That at least would be progress.

      Cellular repair of the ear will virtually eradicate the need for prosthetic devices. They are well aware of this.
