Binaural Beats — Theta Waves

Does anyone know of a good source of an audio file with Binaural Beats that operates with theta waves?

I can find some alleged theta wave files on YouTube, but I have no proof of whether or not they are legit.

Would very much like to be sure of the content of the audio so I'm not listening to wrongful audio data (like alpha, beta waves which aggravate tinnitus more than attenuate it).

I've attached 3 files at the Theta frequencies. They are short so you'll need to set them to loop in your player.

They are created using the same tone on the left side with a tone on the right 4, 6 and 8 Hz higher respectively. The difference in frequency is perceived by the ears as the beat.

So do I add them and merge them in the order: 4 Hz, 6 Hz and lastly 8 Hz or should I blend them all to play at the same time?

 

No they are all to be played separately. If you merge them they will create a lot of textures that will be very removed from the original

Listening to each file individually will give you the binaural beat of that frequency. The 3 I have uploaded are all within the Theta range - although 8 Hz is on the cusp of Theta and Alpha. Try them and see which you like the best.

It is worth a mention that studies have show people with tinnitus to have reduced Alpha activity, so encouraging Alpha is potentially helpful. The recent study published on Frontiers by Neff et al https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5437109/ was using 10Hz amplitude modulation. Another way of expressing this is to call it an isochrocic beat at 10Hz (a kind of modified version of the binaural beat).

 

Ah I see. So perhaps I am better off listening to a file with Alpha waves?

 

Could be. Give the 8Hz file a try and see if it helps. Try the others too and see how they work for you, it's all a matter of experimentation to see what you feel helps you the most.

 

For how long is one supposed to listen to Binaural beats? I know that with ACRN it's 4-6 hours, but the binaural beats is around 20 mins, right? Or?

 

I don't think there is any rule. I would just listen to as long as they feel comfortable for.

If they work under music then have them in the background. Find what works for you.
