Now I get it, I am a bit slow on the take.

Hahahah ajc... love your dark humor, though I would have given Allen and wife a pass, I respect your inclination.

You can't help yourself... Same here. No worries.

      Take care.

      It's Christmas time.

But those of you who believe it's a Christian holiday, it's not. First off there's no record of a birth of Jesus. Second it's a Pagan celebration, where they cut evergreen bows and put them on walls most hung pieces of ribbon on them. The bows represent life, and the celebration was for a great new beginning and most importantly it was the celebration of the winter solstice and that spring was near and crops would be planted.

Religion turned Christmas into what it is today.

We are doing ok, other than myself catching my damn yearly cold, but whisky cures it or at least makes it bearable. The Mrs. is coming along great, eating lots of greens we are, slowly building up the walking.

Not much happening for Christmas here as Ireland has gone back into level 5 lockdown with a 1000 new cases yesterday. Happy holidays to all here on Tinnitus Talk.

I understand completely. Soon after losing a loved one, my wife suffered a serious heart attack, recouping slowly.

You know we are here to give all our support my dear friend.

You know. For all the C-dramas I watch I keep skipping out on the anime. And it does look lovely! Thanks for pointing this one out. I shall watch! I do prefer 2d, but some of the 3d is looking better!

I hope she's feeling better. And I agree. Heart stuff is scary and I wouldn't just rely on medication. Pretty much everyone on my mom's side of the family has heart issues. Medication never works for long and usually makes it worse.

Fun fact: when they were exchanging gifts on Good Morning Britain, during the Christmas episode, they bought Susanna Reid a pair of protective ear muffs. No explanation was given, but it intrigued me as we know she has tinnitus. Seemed an odd choice of gift so I wondered if there was more to it.

Maybe if you know she has tinnitus there's no need for an explanation? Or most assume it's just for ear protection. Cool they gave them to her though.

      Hi @Shera,
What kind of animals are you raising? Chickens and...
Do you grow vegetables as well? What kinds?

      Do tell.

Just chickens and cats. I really want to do pigeons. Used to do ducks.

I let my family in South Dakota do all the big animal farming. Horses, highlander cows, buffalo, regular cows, and occasionally sheep.

Yep. I love gardening. I've downgraded to my lovely box garden this year. Thankfully I had seeds from previous years saved since everybody decided to do COVID-19 gardens this year. Veggies: Spinach, lettuce, green and yellow beans, radishes, onions, garlic, pumpkins, squash, zucchini, yellow crook neck, and tons of tomatoes. Oh, and my stack able potato garden for my addiction to baby potatoes. I also do watermelon, cantaloupe, and other things.

Got our fruit and berry verities too. Also, flowers. Because they look pretty and my chickens nibble on them.

I just put a lovely arch over my box garden and I tend to plan better next year what grows on it. I didn't know how the garden was gonna turn out so it was a bit messy this year.

      How about you @Daniel Lion?

Bummer. I'm sure more singers/musicians will probably get it.

I have got a lot to learn from you and Elmer.

I am a city boy who is coming back to nature, I just finished building raised beds because the ground is old crushed bricks, sand etc. But where the earth has been made good, I've got tons of flowers and local plants going. 3 avocado trees, a small lemon tree and a local equivalent that's a citrus that I don't even know what its name is in English. Turmeric, ginger, garlic, onions, lemon grass, and more green stuff my wife eats or cooks with that I know the names in Lao but not in English. We don't have enough space for animals.

I want to become more self sufficient with the food I eat. I built our house and steam bath (ego talk) and am now onto the fun and challenging part of working with nature and learning how to grow stuff. No more building for Daniel with tinnitus and bad ears, gardening is perfect. We have some farmers in the family who live about an hour away who I can use as as a resource for knowledge. They are awesome people and have always been super kind to me.

I will get some pictures together to share with you in due time. Today I bought a purple bougainvillea plant to spice up the balcony and to provide some shade. In Boston the plants and trees and insects are really different. I do miss the berries and melons from home. Now is harvest season for local oranges which means fresh orange juice everyday. The fruits here are amazing and the veggies are great too. The pig is delicious and folks eat a lot of river fish, duck, frogs, snails, and chicken. I eat fish and meat sparingly for health and other reasons and have a sweet tooth which is my biggest addiction after giving up tobacco which I smoked for decades. I share your addiction to baby potatoes.

I want camping in South Dakota and have visited 2 times for that reason. Enchanted land that touched me in a spiritual or magical way.

This is one rambling disjointed post, forgive me Shera.
Happy New Year and all that Jazz. Warm wishes for you and your loved ones.
