Hahaha I know! Too many motorcycles and very noise and congested cities. Lots of traffic and people just yell...

      This made me chuckle.

A great summing up as to what is happening on this thread. I have to admit, it’s my fault. Everything I do or say turns to filth. I’m not sure what’s wrong with me.

Anyway, how was Malta? I love Malta. Where about did you go/visit?

Saw one of my best mates today, and the first thing he said was that his ears are ringing and been driving him mad! He said he even had to use sound enrichment last night. I said welcome to my world. I asked him if he could hear it when we were just sitting in his house, and he said yes.

So, that is two of my best mates with tinnitus now. Definitely makes me feel not so alone in this battle.

It’s just nice that I can hang out with people who really understand what it is like. Because you can explain it to everyone, but you never really understand it until you get it.

It weren't a holiday @Steph1710. My brother in law had been diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer. We went to see him and help him get hospice care. That happened the last day we were there. We came home on the 12th and one week later he passed away.

You can't judge them, it's the same thing as a blind man explaining how his life is, and you'll try to understand and you know it's difficult, but you'll never fully understand the difficulties of that person.

We've had some shit news this morning. The GP has referred my wife to haematology on suspicion of blood cancer. What is infuriating, though, is that she has been with this problem three times since January of this year, and each time she has been fobbed off. She found enlarged lymph nodes in her armpit and neck, and the first Dr disagreed with her. She went back because she was sure about it and other symptoms were developing, but again she was told there was nothing to worry about, etc. Well, now she has an enlarged lymph node in her groin as well, and this Dr (a different person) has referred her as an emergency case because he said it's definitely her nodes and they aren't normal! She told him that she has been coming about this problem for months but that nobody takes any notice. It's likely due to her age.

My wife is an extremely intelligent person and spotted these abnormalities before a trained professional could. Sometimes I wonder where the heads of these so-called GPs are at when they miss such obvious signs. It's unbelievable, and this isn't the first time something like this has happened in our family.

It could be many things, but the fact we have to wait two weeks for tests to rule out any type of blood cancer is terrifying.

      Always trust your own judgement.

Didn't the GP recommend at least a complete blood count back in January? It's really not such a big deal, you can do it here with... €6 or something, anywhere you want.

Maybe it's better here after all...

By now, she would have had a lot of blood tests, breast and abdominal ultrasound, pulmonary X-ray, even a CT scan done... You name it!

I really hope everything will turn out fine!

Does she have any other symptoms? How old is she?

Seems like a sick joke at the moment, but my mom just rang to say that my dad has got a fast-tracked appointment as well because he's internally bleeding from somewhere and they don't know where. He's been on iron tablets for months, but they haven't made any difference. His kidney function has also dropped to 25.

Yesterday, my cousin, who I'm close with, rang me and was hysterical because she also has to go the hospital in two weeks because she found a hard non-moving lump in her breast. She's concerned because we have a strong family history of breast cancer. Four of my mom's sisters have had it, and three died from it. Our grandmother also died from it.

The doom and gloom is unreal right now. It's one of the shittiest years I've ever known.

Yea, they ran her bloods and they came back normal. I think the frustration comes from the fact that the next visit wasn't taken seriously even though things had progressed (the lumps were objectively bigger, more exhaustion, weight loss, joint pain, etc).

The Dr today seemed rather concerned as the lymph node in her groin is particularly large. I'm hoping it's something like rheumatoid arthritis or anything else that isn't sinister.
      She's 31.

I’m so sorry @Ed209... I hope all 3 get lucky.

It’s very normal what happened. I know a woman who they didn’t even follow up after removal of uterus... and guess what? Cancer in uterus probably due to not removing the whole breast 7-10 years ago... She’s now been on chemotherapy and looks like she got lucky again...

Trusting your instincts is very important in all of life settings...

      Big hug.
