I have been taking klonopin .5 mg for 6 months on and off. I usually take half, maybe three times a week. I have made 80 last this long. Dr says there is no risk stopping with such low dose taking this short of time.

Does anyone think there is a risk just stopping?

Stopping those types of meds cold turkey, is not recommended. The dosage is still enough to cause addiction, If I was on those meds(which I was and much higher dosages as well), I'd taper it and slowly and gradually come off that med.
We are all different and I cannot tell you, how you will feel. If it was me i'd taper and do it slow, you make your own choices.

      Good luck!

Your doctor is a fool and should have learnt the dangers of cold-turkey withdrawal many years ago
I would also advise an easy tail off with any Benzo drug.
If your one of the unlucky ones the withdrawal can be bad.
You cant tell how you will react until you start
      No point in risking it.
Most doctors who are worth their certificate will advise a slow taper programme over many months.
      Go easy...

DEFINITELY try to wean off it. Cut pills in halves, quarters and gradually come down. My wife did that and it helped..... but, even then she still had withdrawal symptoms such as her heart racing and trouble sleeping. It'll pass though. It's only temporary but whatever you can do to limit your body's response the better, so I don't recommend stopping cold turkey.

      Not really, no.

Try making it every 3 days, then .25 every 2 days, then every 3 days. Leave at least a week between reductions.

This may be an abundance of caution, but there's really no downside to playing it safe

I would just stop. Your not on enough that tapering is necessary.

There is no risk going off slow taper, due to big risk going cold turkey. I was on med for 3 weeks and doc said stop. Guess what bad withdrawal hell. Go slow.

Have ask this question before....been through about 90 pills, .05 mg the last 6 months. Mostly halves of those before bed on and off. Have a few left but have taken more than usual this week. Do I still need to taper off taking so little. More T from withdrawal is scaring me a little even though dr. says dishes have been very small. I am sleeping fine now and want to stop them.

I would taper slowly but you need to be asking your doctor this not forum members.

Like your doctor says you could stop.
As this will be the last of the med leaving your body you could be in for a 48 hour rough patch so make sure you keep food and fluids up and maybe someone whom can keep a eye on you even by phone.
