It's good to read that Autifony remains optimistic:)
Maybe a silly question but why do they need £2.2 mil for phase 2 trial?
What's so expensive about giving 150 people a handful of pills to take for a month?

In general terms (and not related to Autifony specifically):
      • Salary to the doctors and medical staff performing the clinical trial.
      • Medical screening (remember it isn't just the 150 people who make it through to the trial; there are a lot who don't and their screening cost also needs to be included).
      • Cost of any medical procedures involved in the trial.
      • Compensation costs for participants.

“No one really knows where tinnitus is caused,” Dr. Parker said.

makes me a little bit sad :(

Yeah my heart sank a bit at that too.

Imagine if they discovered a treatment or cure for Tinnitus and it could cure many people's type of tinnitus but couldn't help your own type. You'd be gutted.

But we have to be optimistic, there's not much point in being anything else ;)

I would encourage everyone to donate to the Virginia Merrill Bloedel Hearing Research Center and the Stanford Initiative to cure hearing loss. I still think that the cure to tinnitus rests with functional hair cell restoration.
