Came across this website and biotech company. They apparently have a drug for tinnitus and another for treating NIHL in pre-clinical. As well as a prevention for NIHL in phase 2. So far, though, I can find no other info about them apart from their website. Anyone know more?

Not much but their blog gives a little bit more info:
      http://www.gatewaybiotechnology.com/blog/blog2/

Notably that they're working on refactoring anti-epileptic products for hearing loss.

Here are two papers by Jianxin Bao, one of the CEOs, for you nerds :p

      https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23792074
      https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20580130

Their Twitter isn't really active and the last entry on the blog is from October 2019.

Funnily enough, in one of the blog's entries I found this quote:
So everyone say hi to Dr Jianxin Bao :)

I got a response from Gateway:

Thanks for reaching out to us. As of now, the pipeline on tinnitus is still at pre-clinical stage, so it might take another few years. Hopefully, we could get to phase III in the near future!

It's the second company that works on hearing regenerative drugs you've discovered since last November. There could be other companies we've never heard before; which work on regenerating the cochlea.

I'm convinced of it. There is a ton of ongoing research on this topic. Many without any PR whatsoever yet.

      Came across this today, too:

      https://www.massbio.org/news/member...ternal-innovation-in-hearing-disorders-151417

This quote stuck out: "Although no drug has been approved for inner ear diseases on the market yet, hundreds of drug candidates are being developed and some will succeed in reaching the market in the next few months, giving hope to the 466M people worldwide who suffer from hearing impairments. CILcare’s mission is to support these development programs."

What drugs are set to reach the market in a few months?

A few months, that quick? What drugs would it be? It can’t be. Audion Therapeutics and Frequency Therapeutics are the closest but they will be a couple of years away.

Otonomy's Meniere's drug could be one since they weren't specific beyond "inner ear drug." I can't think of any others.

So this is a company that... provides services to other companies that are researching hearing loss treatments? There's a whole world out there of which I am completely unaware.

      That's CilCare I'm talking about. Here's their website https://www.cilcare.com/

There are already informations about Cilcare on this forum, for example below is one of their last piece of news:
      https://www.tinnitustalk.com/thread...be-we-can-know-more.3131/page-148#post-490194

So far, there is not yet a specific thread for it. Maybe later if it becomes relevant of its own.

Yes, Cilcare provides facilities to research labs (leading clinical trials?...). Do we have to think that this company is well placed and informed to announce that "hundreds of drug candidates are being developed and some will succeed in reaching the market in the next few months" ?

Just to go back to the subject of this thread "Gateway Biotechnology", I checked clinicaltrials.gov, and I did not find any clinical trial led by this company, though it claims their product GW-101 is in phase 2.

@Frédéric, Gateway's phase 2 trial for GW-101 is supposedly through a testing contract with the US Army. I'm not sure that would appear on clinicaltrials.gov.

I would say why not, because we can find some clinical trials involving Veteran Affairs (VA). Unless this is "top secret".

I don't think top secret as much as only given to active service members, not the general public but this is a good question. I really don't know.

      More information:

It was nice to hear from you. Our company is mostly working on the prevention and treatment of noise-induced hearing loss and tinnitus developed as a result of that. As of now, we are not working on regeneration. Our drug candidates are targeting T-type calcium channel, inflammatory response pathways, and ROS/RNS. We are still raising funding to push it to the next stage of research. We also hope that hearing loss and tinnitus could be solved in the near future and our drug could benefit more people like you! Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

GW-TT23 has recently been removed from Gateway Biotechnology's pipeline. This leaves the nasal therapy and gene therapy treatments for tinnitus. Both of these are pre-clinical with patents pending.
