How Old Were You When Your Tinnitus Started?

Thats exactly how I got mine raul ...wish I had never gone ...was a life changing event

 

I got it at 24 years of age. Sinus infection at first then working in a loud environment and then BAM now I have H and T. Weird that no one ever mentioned that the ears can receive a beating from a sinus infection, not even the doctor I visited! The tinnitus is bearable but the hyperacusis is really hard.. it limits me in so many ways. As an aspiring filmmaker I have no idea how I will continue on doing what I enjoy.. I just hope the hyperacusis gets better!

I 13 now 45 was mild for a long time since November 30 got super loud took bad meds "naproxen never ever take it trust me

 

I was 45 when t started, the ent said it was mild hearing loss?

 

16 years old. Loud music. I'm 55.

 

22 in november 2013 after jammim on drums with my dad. Turned 23 im january..

 

July 2009 i was 14 i am now 19 Still going strong and trying to live life to its fullest.

 

Has your T gotten worse over the years?

 

Kind of.
I remember when I was a teenager how awful it was - ringing.
These days it's a loud hiss and sometimes ring.
The difference is that back then it would come and go, now it's constant.
I made the smart move to ditch loud music before I was 20, then got stupid and played some occaisional REAL loud music in my thirties. There are some concerts I wish I would have not gone to. It wasn't worth it.

 

I can't blame it all on music, though. For over 20 years I took all kinds of prescription migraine medicine and my ears would sing like fire trucks.

 

i was 54, i think long term meds AD's then got zapped by a loud noise last november, i'll be 55 in July.

 

somatic tinnitus on one neck tweak since i was 16 as far as i know, 21 when i got it 6 days after a clubnight, ipod might be the pitfall

54 for me. Dealing with gout over 20 years so it was more than likely med related. Never heard of T before it happened.

 

18 , headphones, loud music, frequent loud concerns. At the time all the music didn't seem loud for me, I thought my ears could take it, I guess I was wrong!

 

I was 30, after an exposure to a loud house alarm for few minutes.. Started in a week or so, after the event..

 

19, after hypertension medication.

 

I got T three months after open heart surgery @ 65. I have no idea if it even has anything to do with the surgery or not. It just came out of the blue. Have had it for two years now.

 

Seems like most people on this forum are of all age groups. Wondering if most of you had your T come in in your 20's, 30's, 40's or perhaps much later?

Mine was age 30.

Had T since childbirth most likely. Always remember sleeping with a ring in my ears. Up until my T became intrusive, I thought everyone had T. I have never experienced (or have no memory of) true silence. At this point in my life I don't believe I'll like it, too quiet. Lol

16! My mother has had it since her teen years, too.

 

I was 27 when it started. Never went to any clubs or concerts or listened to loud music, no ototoxic meds nothing. Then I smashed my head on wall and it started the next day.

 

That's sad lol, how did you smash you're head
