I'm not living with this asshole screaming forever. That's all there is to it. I'm done with all the carelessness, all the ignorance and all the in humane bull shit. This has disturbed my life so much over the past year and a half. All this lack of awareness, doctors not having a clue is unacceptable.

I wish there was one. I mean there is but it's the one that ends it all. I can truly understand why severe sufferers choose that route.

Thank you all for your support. You all hang in there as well. Keep researching and hope to get on some kind of trial somewhere.

I know. It's so awful and I am only 5 months in. You can't think about having to live like this forever or you'll lose your mind. You never know what will happen in the future. I read that there is a trial( I want to say at Stanford but I can't remember) where they are injecting stem cells into the ears of deaf children. I'm sure someone else could chime in with more information.

I'm moderately optimistic about various different treatment options which are in different parts of the clinical pipeline, and I'm not even talking about drug stuff; in the mean time, all we can do is make the best of the time we've got and "try not to dwell on it"...

I sort of let this BS run my life for a while; realized it wasn't getting any better, have basically taken control over my destiny again. The fact that I still post here probably means I've not completely moved on by any means, but I'll get there ;) You can too!

I am trying to get to that point. Where I am tired of the negative thoughts.
      It has not happened yet.
In the meantime I donate monthly to different research and hope this will speed things up. We need a lot of "drops in the ocean".;)

@linearb Its just the loud days that get me down. I truly sympathize for those who have it loud all the time.

Oh, I still think about this stuff more than I'd like to (which is to say, at all). Just not letting it steer my life decisions or actions anymore, beyond the basic truth of "carry earplugs and don't go to EDM shows, duh".

      There is.

Go to a nutritionist that is savy in the ketogenic diet.

Follow the diet for 6 months.

Get into a healthy weight, train frequently during these 6 months.

Try to incorporate the health toolsvi posted.

      Your T will improve.

Is there any scientific study that shows that T improves with a ketogenic diet?
      I couldn't find any...

There is not. However, maintaining a healthy weight, controling insulin spikes, lowering blood pressure and cholesterol (which Keto can do) may have a positive outcome on your T. All of us are different, results may vary. Even if it doesn't improve your T, it will positive affect you and thus have an indirect positive affect on your T.

Keto is not for everyone. I am on and off it all the time. It is difficult but I do feel better when I am on it. My T stays about the same however

First time I read about Keto diet, I already did a little research and looks great for overall health. This is why I like TT, you always find great info from great people.

I will try it right away,
      Regards,
      Johnny.

Oh I don't doubt there are positive effects of a keto diet, but what you are saying is far from the very confident "Your T will improve" statement.
I don't have a weight problem, blood pressure problems, or cholesterol problems, and I have a very healthy and tasty diet (I cook every meal from fresh ingredients, many of which come from my garden actually), so I'm not sure whether there is a good ROI in this diet for me, hence my question.

I wish there was scientific backing for it, because that would mean another tool in my toolbox. Sadly, as you said, there doesn't seem to be.

Here is evidence that it might improve with healthier diet
      http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/14992027.2017.1331049
Here is how they defined "healthy diet" in this study:
"For each of the five food group components (meat,
dairy, fruits, vegetables and grains), individuals who consumed the
recommended number of servings received a score of 10; scores
decreased for those with less than the recommended intake; greater
than recommended intake of the five food groups (meat, dairy,
fruits, vegetables and grains), did not reduce the category score. Fat,
saturated fat, cholesterol, and sodium were scored based on
consumption of no more than the recommended maximum intake.
If fat and saturated fat intake were 30% of total caloric intake or less
(at or below the maximum recommended intake), a score of 10 was
received for each; if cholesterol and sodium intake were at or below
maximum recommended intake values (300 mg cholesterol,
2400 mg sodium), a score of 10 was received for each. Higher
than the recommended intake of fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, or
sodium decreased scores. Finally, for dietary variety, a score of 10
was given if at least 16 different foods were consumed, decreasing
to zero if 6 or less different foods were consumed."

The study above had also reported
"The odds of reporting persistent tinnitus were lower in participants with healthier fat intake (OR 0.69; 95% CI 0.49–0.99) and fruit intake (OR 0.61; 95% CI 0.41–0.91)."

These results had already been "Adjusted for age, sex, smoking, race/ethnicity, diabetes and noise exposure."

"There is limited empirical data exploring the relationship
between tinnitus and diet in the literature. Gallus et al (2015)
suggested that adherence to a Mediterranean diet may explain the
low prevalence of tinnitus in the Italian population, but no analysis
was performed to support their suspicion. The only other report of
relationships between diet and tinnitus in a population-based study
was McCormack et al (2014). However, differences in dietary
assessment limit the opportunity for comparison with the NHANES
data. McCormack et al (2014) reported elevated odds of persistent
tinnitus with higher intake or fruit/vegetable intake, higher intake of
wholegrain/wholemeal bread, and avoidance of dairy; decreased
odds of persistent tinnitus was reported with increased fish
consumption, egg avoidance, and increased intake of caffeinated
coffee. Our finding of reduced report of persistent tinnitus with
healthier fruit intake contradicts the McCormack et al (2014)
      results."

I should have created a brand new thread about this.

"The strength of the relationships in McCormack et al (2014) was
relatively small, for example the odds ratio for fruit and vegetable
intake for tinnitus was 1.01 (p<0.018). ... It should also be noted that the UK Biobank food questionnaire has not been validated with other dietary measures, such as food diaries, while the HEI has beenvalidated"
