Men Only: Does Masturbating Affect Tinnitus?

I wanted to ask something to the guys here. I'm 18 and I'm relatively new to everything about T, so I would like to ask. Does 'wanking'/'fapping' or simply put, masturbating, affect T? I had 'wet dreams' a few nights ago in the middle of the night, and I woke up immediately after. When I awakened, my T was quite loud, even when it was really soft before I went to sleep. It's happened twice, and both times I had the same thing happen.

 

My T is always loader after a dream... wetdream sould be the same idea i think and not because "it" happend.

 

My view would be that anything that stimulates your brain with a dream or excitement and maybe a rise in BP also can spike your tinnitus but should soon settle down when fully relaxed ..lots of love glynis

 

Yes, masturbation/orgasm stimulates the nervous system thus leads to neuron exitability.

 

Now I know why masturbation is a sin.

 

Why aren't women involved in this thread? lol I know anytime I dream of Tom Hardy I definitely wake up to higher T..

 

I guess Masturbation, and sex fall into the "exercise" category, so as any exercise it may make it worse for a while. Try eating something after you've, er... "depleted your energy".

 

Orgasm in any context has never had any effect at all on my tinnitus.

Actually, there was a female member here at TT not long ago (trying to remember her name, you might try the search field) who insisted her excessive masturbation caused her tinnitus.

I can tell you that for me, sex in general makes my T a little louder for awhile. But who cares??

 

Never had an impact my t is almost the same from the second I wake up to the moment I sleep only rarely very low days / or I do not give a FU----k

 

I don't think masturbation does anything. I too at times wake up with a 'spike'. I don't have wet dreams ( I had one many years ago). It lasts about 15 minutes. This is probably the most anxiety inducing thing of all. I am learning to stay calm when it happens. Previously I would get up. Now I try to calm down and just go back to sleep and ignore it. The user Glynis told me she too sleeps even when her ears are screaming. If she can do that, we can certainly try.
I don't think masturbation influences anything, unless maybe the tinnitus is related to a vascular problem.

These instances of loud tinnitus are called 'spikes'. I too am trying to learn about them. If there is anything to learn about them.

 

Well all that I can say from my point of view is my hubby can get my bells ringing or could it be the ball and chain rattling after 28 years of marriage.....hahaha need a blinking oxygen tank for my lungs I think ...makes me breathless hahaha( severe asthmatic) ...hope your all laughing ...lots of love glynis

I'm watching an old episode of Nova, and a neuroscientist who researches dreams just mentioned that the amygdala is very active during dreams in REM sleep. Since the amygdala is strongly implicated in the limbic component of tinnitus, it seems like certain kinds of dreaming might be activating the wrong circuits.

 

@Hariz Nonis --women should be included in this thread. Orgasm is not just a male thing...

Even if I have a 'low' T day, sleep resets it to it's normal loudness so it may be the sleep and not the type of dream you had that made your T louder. Personally, orgasm doesn't spike my T. As a matter of fact, it relaxes me so that falling asleep is easier....

I understand you're point of view from you're religion and country it is not so "appropriate" just like here in the uae

 

gender differentiation is something that should by now be out of this world (or atleast striven for by the intellectual and loving ones of this earth) ... even in these seemingly harmless ideas lie the foundations of discrimination and religious repression ... we are all one in the heart and in our feelings and thoughts ... doesn`t matter how the body reaches that state ... with a penis or a vagina ...

 

I appreciate that different cultures have different views on what is appropriate for mixed gender conversation, and i do not judge those cultures for those views. But I would suggest that if you post a topic in a forum where its clear both genders and people from many different cultures participate... well, you should expect both genders may respond.

sex/masturbation had been one of my best escapes from tinnitus, prior to my current chronic pain issues which have made that more or less impossible.

After my wife and I "go to the park" I seem to lose my hearing almost totally for a couple seconds, then great crazy wild T for a few minutes then I'm OK. I thought it happened to all guys! hmm

During an orgasm, male or female, lots of histamine is released. It's responsible for the flushing of the skin. It also will increase flushing the the eardrum and the sound you hear is usually blood rushing through the tiny vessels of the drum or other parts of the ear. The more blood the louder the sound. Try a vsaoconstrictor like caffeine or an antihistamine like benedryl. Don't give give up sex though. To confirm this (or not) experiment by taking a large dose of niacin. It releases histamine resulting in flushing and temporary tinnitus. Salsa and peppers might do this also. Sex is better though.

Yeah, lotta people saying that us backwoods people who believe in things like public religous disputation, or sexual ethics(in speech or otherwise), or that there is a discernable different between men and women in feelings and thoughts(something quite obvious), are the only dangerous people left.

That is a strange occurrence. How close to actual deafness are you at that point?
What's the origin of that phrase? Who do you tell you're visiting the park?

 

Hummm, I have never noticed that during and after sex.. anyways I can't think during that time except of 2 things
