I'm watching this, this morning (almost half way through) and I couldn't help but think that a lot of people on this forum should probably avoid this movie if they have hyperacusis and/or severe tinnitus.

There are many parts in the movie where JLaw gets sick or disoriented and everything glass-related becomes super high pitched. Clinking, touching, filling with liquid... it's all quite "enhanced". So fair warning to anyone on here who is interested in watching it.

Thank you. This is good to know. It may be worth creating a sticky thread somewhere to post movie titles of particularly loud, potentially harmful movies.

I do not know where such a suggestion could be made, hopefully an admin will read this post.

Bad idea.. all films are more or less mixed to peak at a certain level. There might be some more dynamic or higher tones that might be unpleasant. But harmful? No.

Ofcourse it could get too loud in the cinema, so always take earplugs with you.

Yeah, I mean my T, I'm sure, isn't the worst but I had no problem listening to the sounds watching it at home. I'm sure there might be some who would have trouble though, even if a little.

As for the movie itself, it was laden with wtf-moments... lol I liked it simply because of that but had trouble figuring out for sure what was going on. After reading about it online everything made sense. Basically it's all allegorical, I'll leave it at that and not spoil it.

Yes, "Harmful" may have been the wrong word, my english is not the best. But do you believe there is no benefit to listing movies that our members have had problems with because of particular sounds? I have seen a number of similar warnings and having an easy to find post with a list of films that our members feel have caused them problems could be a good service to the other members.

Well if you are talking about certain movies, like Dunkirk, in the cinema, I agree.
(But I guess that's obvious, with a war film)
But I can watch Dunkirk at a lower volume at home.
Maybe I don't share your problem with certain tones, so I can't tell.

Yes. The movie theater would be the main focus as we have no control over the volume there.

No, what's harmful about certain sounds? If you keep volumes in check you are fine.

This would depend a lot on the theatre as well.

      I agree.

You seemed to imply that one would be safe even when the volume is loud.
