I wish you best of luck! I hope/think the trouble @Sentinel has (hope you get better soon) isn't related to the OTO-313 injection. Maybe it was the placebo that was given – we don't know yet, right?

 

I’m leaning towards bailing out of the trial. I really can’t risk my tinnitus getting worse. @Sentinel’s post kinda scared me as well. I am sorry everyone, I hope my reasoning sits well with all of you.

Someone asked how I was doing. I didn't realize I was gonna have my face ripped off for simply saying what was going on. I'll keep it strictly to injection-related shit from now on.

 

In contrast to FX-322, do we know how far the solution goes into the cochlea?

 

I think it´s the same principle, Frequency Therapeutics and Otonomy both use the Gel injection system.

Just different molecules I think.

Otonomy claims its gel can deliver drugs throughout the cochlea. It's also a slow release gel. They believe it to be a competitive advantage.

 

Very impressive. If this is the case, then at least in principle the delivery hump is resolved.

I know OTO-313 is primarily for acute cases but gives lots of hope to OTO-413 if successful.

I’m optimistic.

If we could just get verification one day that regenerating the synapses and/or hair cells solves both hearing loss and the accompanying tinnitus, that'd be great.

I don’t live near any of these areas. They only have one place for California! And I’m not even two months in or I’d be down.

We have our hearing back in no time

 

I decided not to do it after reading about the adverse effects. It would be around a 30% chance of my tinnitus worsening. I just couldn't take that risk.

Mind you, if the chances of tinnitus worsening are that high, then you made the right decision.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop. You have to do what's best for you, so you made the right choice.

A 30% chance of adverse results with no guarantee of actual improvement doesn't sound like a risk I'd want to take either.

 

You realize that an adverse event can be a headache or temporary fullness of ear which I believe I read on the same slide.
