I've been really struggling these days because of an hyperacusis setback. My husband convinced me to go out yesterday for a walk in the park and I was afraid but happy that I did it. It was a beautiful afternoon.

Haven't been there in 2 yearsI'll be taking my nephew and little cousins trick or treating this Monday with this Halloween "outfit" instead. Rate it please! Yes, I take Halloween very seriously.

Barely some life besides my boxing club these days. Earplugs in at all times. I had the chance to train a cool Spanish cartoonist. Cat smokes and does booze like a maniac but has better cardio than lots of athletes I know...
I tested positive for COVID-19 last week. Symptoms lasted just 12 hours which was much better than it may seem as I wouldn't have endured them much longer.
Mega headache, super coughing, ultra asphyxia. They all subsided as if a switch had been switched off, all of a sudden. Praises due to vaccines and science.
I hope you all are doing great.

Waiting for the candyman.
I've started smoking weed regularly for a couple of weeks now.
It helps me lots with my sleeping and overall mood, keeping me relaxed but fairly functional at the same time. I make sure it doesn't interfere with my training, tho.
As you may know, weed, despite being widely accessible in some kind of coffee shops and associations, still is illegal in Spain. Sometimes one is forced to get the stash from the old good black market and that used to mean night time, lonely urban spaces and some exciting waiting time.
There I am, somewhere in south Spain, first cold night after a ridiculously boiling hot summer, waiting for someone I just know the number of.

I look forward to picking the guns up again one day. Just isn't worth the risk of accidentally shooting one off without hearing protection. I'll wait until there is a cure.

Sometimes... all we can do is laugh, I suppose. This world's a tragicomedy and I use humor to cope at times. After all, what would we do without it? We'd just cry—cry unto death with that long agony; that curse of despair and longing; longing for something more... redemption. We'd cry onto the ages and the seasons, shaming them, like a long winter's night that's dead, having no warmth or light to offer.

Miss my old TV days. I used to work for an NBC hub. Was there 13 years, but they relocated it to another state, so I opted not to go.
Hi @El BUZZ, do you really have disabling tinnitus? If so, how on earth do you manage to box?
Personally I am so weak from lack of sleep due to tinnitus that I constantly feel extremely weak and wobbly.
I feel that if someone brushes up against me in the street I could fall to the ground because I am so weak (although I eat very well).
Boxing is probably the last sport I would ever take up because of this damn disease. I don't know how you do it.

I've had tinnitus for 7 years now. I had to give up my musical career when I first got it plus I had to radically change lots of my musically related habits. I can hear my tinnitus 24/7 everywhere. Almost nothing can mask it. It sounds like an angle grinder chopping through thin layers of tin. It has taken me to really dark psychological places.
I can firmly say that boxing has saved my life. It is a very demanding sport which can be physically approached in many ways. Skipping rope, running, lifting weights, working on footwork, coordination, cardio, balance, strength, etc... makes it an incredibly complete sport. I love it so much!
Of course I am worried about a blow making my tinnitus worse but the consequences of giving up the sport would be way more devastating.

I miss being able to drive and enjoy my car, KITT, an '82 Trans Am, Knight Rider replica. With severe tinnitus and hyperacusis, haven't been able to.
350 in there? My first car was a '82 Camaro with a carbed V6... it was horrible lol.

I said I took up violin despite tinnitus in left ear. I use a foam earplug and seem to be ok so far. At least my tinnitus is okayish. Not sure about my playing but this is a long, slow journey.
