Tinnitus Since
1991 (Low level). Worse Dec 2017 to Now
Cause of Tinnitus
Ear injury (paintball) 1991. 2017 > Onwards Cause? Not sure.
I'm having days where I am starting to feel a bit better. Its hard to judge how much better as its subjective. It's not that the tinnitus has got lower, I seem to be accepting/adapting more.

I still have a long way to go. But what is happening is I say to myself "I actually feel good today" and then "Yes but you still have tinnitus" comes in, and I get a horrible anxious feeling in the stomach.

I'm hoping in time I won't react like this.

Cheers.

I feel the same way too Monkey legs . Like Samantha say we are habituating. Hope in time we don't remember that the noise is there . Seem like the only way out for now. Happy for you , feel better.

I'm sorry, but not until now? Or has it worsened more recently than 1991?

I should explain I originally had T from 1991 but it was so low, it wasnt a problem. December just gone, some kind of sinus infection and the T went into over drive.

Still infection issues, but seeing an ENT soon.

Thanks for the positive words all.

Well there I was feeling positive and we have just had a huge family argument. I now feel like total shit, and of course the Tinnitus seems louder than ever.

Great.

Place your focus on how you felt prior to the confrontation. It will be like that again.

Good to see someone on the forum giving encouraging support.

Please there are many people who give positive and "encouraging" support on this forum. That statement makes others feel their advice here is not worthy of "support".

Um..that is quite obvious.

I am not here to fight. I think everyone's advice, even yours, is equally important for the most part.

Folks, ive just talked about a real life argument that made me feel terrible. Now you are arguing on here. I knew this T stuff was hard, but this is crazy.

Thanks.

@monkey legs,
Sorry to hear you had a bad argument and hope not about having tinnitus as it can be hard for family etc to understand.
You will get lots of good advice from friends on here and members you don't really know.
Take no notice of forum arguments and I will intervene if gets out of hand.
Love glynis x

So sorry you just had an argument. Arguing can elevate stress levels and irritate the limbic system. It's possible you're experiencing a tinnitus increase from that. It's not easy, but try to take some time to calm your entire body. Maybe some breathing exercises. Sending positive thoughts your way.

Thank you Glynis, you are a beautiful person. If there is such a think as Karma you are definitely in the + area lol.

I think it has gotten out of hand. Implying that another poster is a baby or child (re: please put the toys back in the pram) is rude, condescending, and not the kind of support we should give one another on TT.

Hey,
I think paying attention to other things help a lot. I have meditation classes these days (MBSR course) and there they teach you to practice putting all your awareness on one thing. When you do that, that one thing gets way more real, way more intense and everything. I think the same counts for the ears.
Anyway, I am trying to make peace with it, had some succes for myself but sometimes not so much.
I would recommend MBSR, Mindfullness Bases Stress Reduction, It helps some for me.
