So I am leaving tomorrow to camp out in Smoky National for a week. I've been stressed because of my tinnitus and some projects at work, and I am very curious if change in environment and de-stressing would help with tinnitus symptoms. I am going to follow up on Monday.

I rather be on the road and outside living life, than being in a house with nothing to do and just listening to tinnitus :)

Agreed, I take 2-3 walks a day, totally around 15K steps daily. Mostly to destress.

Have fun. I wouldn't be surprised if you're barely aware of your tinnitus while you're away.

Hope you have a wonderful trip!

I've taken a few trips this summer and it was much easier to ignore my tinnitus when I was occupied with other things. After the first trip, I was worried that it was louder until I realized that was simply because I was back in my quiet house focusing on it. Just keep that in mind if the same happens to you!

I am back from my trip. While camping I couldn't hear T because there were plenty of other sounds in the forest. I also didn't experience the pressure on the back of the head or dizziness that I started to develop few days before my trip. As I am back I see that my T is about at the same level before I left. First night I woke up mid-night because of it, and I used some sound masking to go back to sleep.

So some thoughts. I know my T really exists but what makes it worse (and gives me other symptoms) is possibly the type of stress I get from work. I have a ton of stress right now, and that turns into anxiety over my T and work issues. There were a couple of stressful issues during the trip but they didn't cause any T-related issues.

Did you find yourself trying to listen for the T while on your trip?

I did try to listen to it but it wouldn't work. It has to be somewhat quiet.
