As mentioned, this product is NOT TPP.

This is thiamine tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide, a different chemical derivative of thiamine.
It might not be working for you because the product you are taking is not thiamine pyrophosphate.

In the body, whatever thiamine you take has to be converted to active thiamine in order to be used. Active thiamine is TPP. When you take TPP directly, it bypasses the need for your body to activate it.

Sorry my bad, somehow I thought it was TPP. I can't seem to find TPP anywhere though, any idea if it's available off the shelf?

Still no change in my tinnitus. I think this product has been causing on and off numbness in my hands; so I decided to stop taking it.

So... FINALLY the Thiamax TPP capsules are back in stock. Not sure when I’ll get it as it may be shipped from the manufacturer directly & not by Amazon.

I’ve been reading that some folks have been taking it in lozenge form. I decided not to order that because of the artificial sweeteners & ingredients. I’m highly sensitive to these & always stay clear.

Fingers crossed I get some relief. I will post updates.

I had blood work last year and my "bilirubin" was in the normal range. This year I was taking the Thiamine pill mentioned on here and my "bilirubin" was abnormal. I now have to have more lab work done in 3 months to see if the vitamin was the cause.

Just an update, I took TPP for about 10 days and had nothing but really bad days for that whole duration (even the baseline days were pretty bad and my sleep was deteriorating ). I switched back to Thiamax and things seem more calm again. Also my sleep is so much better. No idea if there is a correlation there but I wanted to report this.

Thought I'd post an update, I received my results from my blood work and my bilirubin is back in the normal range. It was 1.3 when taking TPP and dropped back down to 0.9 when I quit taking it.

@Azariah, do you still take the TPP? How is your tinnitus now?

I have this package from Thailand:

      Thiamine mononitrate 250mg

      Cyanocobalamin 1000mg

      Is that the same thing?

@Azariah - Do you think this supplement would work if you were exposed to loud noises? I was exposed to loud noises and then noticed changes in my hearing.

Hi @Azariah. Glad to know you benefited from Source Natural's Thiamine.

Did you try other coenzymated vitamin B3 or B6 from the same company?

Vitamin B3 NAD is also supposed to reduce tinnitus and it is cellular energy booster.

      Bumping this thread.

@Henry1492, you mentioned in 2016 that coenzymated B1 lowered your tinnitus. Has your tinnitus remained that way?

I ordered some last week, took my first lozenge yesterday and I notice today my tinnitus seems ever so slightly better. Not sure if it's a coincidence, but I'll keep taking it and post again on Monday.

I've taken it for 3 days. Things seem very slightly better, but I could be imagining it. I wouldn't say this supplement makes a huge difference.

You have to give supplements a minimum of at least 30 days before you decide to continue or discontinue. The original poster had immediate success but everyone is different.

I've been taking this supplement about 9 days now and my tinnitus is 100% significantly less intrusive. I have to say this stuff works.

I didn't think it did at first because he reported results after just 2 days, but in my case it took over a week.

I should add though, that by no means is my tinnitus even close to being gone, as the original poster reported. It's just less intrusive, which I'll take as a win.

      Please try this stuff.

@RadioKid722, so happy for your success!

What product were you exactly taking? Where did you order it from? What type of tinnitus do you have? Head? Ears? Stable? Unstable?

      @David S, I'm taking this: Source Naturals Coenzymated B-1 25mg Fast Acting Thiamin Cocarboxylase Quick-Dissolve - 60 Lozenges

I have unilateral tinnitus in my left ear caused by ototoxic hearing loss. It's stable but highly intrusive. I hear it over the highway, over normal TV, and it's difficult to mask, although it is maskable with the right form of sound.

I take 1 to 2 lozenges each day, each lozenge is 13 mg I think.

My improvement may not be due to the lozenges, it could just be natural. But I find it non-coincidental that it improved after I started taking this supplement.
