I’m not managing it well. I already tried to end it twice. Second time was nearly successful. I’m very depressed.

Damn man, I’m sorry. There are no treatments coming out soon? I keep hearing about treatments on this forum.

Nothing is going to come out to help us. Especially me, since I have a degenerative ear disease. It’s either you deal with it or you don’t. I have a 10 month old and still tried to do this. I’m so desperate for relief. I’m on antivirals now because there are studies showing Ménière’s is caused by herpes in the ear nerve. Like from previous chicken pox or cold sores.

Sorry, just saw this. Does the low salt diet help? Are you taking Valtrex? I got prescribed that in the beginning, but it made my kidneys hurt.

Update for me: MRI at 106 decibels made my tinnitus louder in the right ear. I had earplugs.

I will see about hearing aids this Friday.

      I hope it’s a coincidence...

Be careful when they fiddle around with the hearing aids.

I don’t know, maybe. Could be me focusing on it but I don’t know. It’s a lot louder now whereas I wouldn’t hear it before unless spiked.

What do you mean by being careful with the hearing aids?

Well I have never tried hearing aids but I can imagine they’re going to pluck it in and out of your ear canal many times and fiddle with the volume / white noise apps...

      Weird stuff.

Left ear/head pulsatile high frequency tinnitus is so strange.

Gets better lying flat or standing, worse sitting or neck bent on pillow. Doing exercise worsens it temporarily but improves it later. It usually gets better at night or morning.

I see... based on what I read it’s usually worse for everyone at night. Btw, it’s only my new pulsatile tone that is better at night or lying down. My right ear, the damaged one, is always there lol.

So one ear is somatic like, other ear is affected by noise... weird as hell.

Have you tried taking vitamin B or Ginkgo biloba? That might help with your situation.

A guess. I tried Ginkgo biloba and it helped me a bit, lowering down its volume or intensity, but it doesn't last long though.

I woke up one night with the loudest most shrill noise I've experienced in my life. Picture an actual buzzsaw next to your ear, it was that loud. I slept with my head raised and I think my neck makes it worse. Once I laid flat, within 30 minutes it dissipated. Yesterday I woke up with a mild form of that, it always happens an hour in, then I sleep flat. It's hard to sleep flat because of my GERD/sleep apnea

So I now fear this noise will become permanent and I will end myself, that noise is not tolerable at all, for anyone. I need @Exit, @Damocles, @Steph1710, @Stacken77 and @aura to group hold me lol.

@Wrfortiscue, I’ve had a year in a couch where I built up with some hard balcony pillows so that my back and head was 30 degrees from the waist and up. Perhaps you could try that? If your neck is flat relative to the back, then perhaps the ear will behave like if you lay completely flat?

I used some old t-shirts to build around my head so I could have my face facing the ceiling and still get some rest for the neck.

If that helps then a motorised bed might be something for you and the missus :D

Motorised beds are a must for those who have GERD. And well for anyone who appreciates their sleep. Lovely invention. Get one.

The neuromodulation videos do mask my tinnitus while I'm listening to them but then I get annoyed.
