    This day atleast i wasnt the clumsy one..... My coworker fell over 4 chairs stacked on each other right next to me. Loud bam when all the chair feel to the floor and i didnt see it since they were behind me, everyone started to applause and laughing, it was very loud. Trying to stay calm.

    Also to mention my Hyperacusis is WAAAAAAAY worse after stretching for some weird reason.

    ive always wondered if my TT is bc of muscle from just anxiety/OCD. I have been stretching for 2 days since i got a quite nasty spike that i had for 2 months. After i stretched my TT is like 8-9/10 instead of 6-7/10 and its been staying for days. Maybe my muscles are just messed up from all the stress from this condition after all these years???? Should ill keep stretching or just let it be is the question.

    Seems like the tinnitus is really flaring up now and mostly on the ear i hit with the rake. Im feeling very low at the moment and sad, im really struggling to find the tools how to make progress with both H and T that keeps spiking and i would say in the last 2 months it got like 20 % louder. :(

    How did this work out for you? It seems like those clumsy incidents are impossible to avoid, I do them to :(

    It worked out fine. I did have some serious panic about the incident tho lol

    Urk im so clumsy. Was out in the shed with earmuffs to remove all the leafs that blow in during the winter. Stepped on a rake that went up with full force and hit my earmuff... Little bit panicky now since it was very loud on the plastic but hope it will not make a spike.

    Again im very interested in this because I feel like these things keep happening.
    How often do you use earmuffs? do you use earplugs as well?

    @Maruashen i use earplugs the most since they make the best "dampening effect", i use earmuffs if im gonna do small stuff and just wanna put something on "incase". It somehow didnt spike me more then a day even tho it was VERY loud. Its important you insert the plugs right

    Man im so frustrated. We got these old doors at my work that are "hard to close". You need to close it and then push very hard for it to stay closed. My IDIOT college was closing the door right next to me but instead of doing it the right way he takes and close it by just smashing it shut super hard creating a superloud BAM, i wasnt looking since i was talking to someone else. Anxiety is thru the roof!

    Yeah no one bothers to accommodate me with anything despite constantly reminding them to just be quieter around me.

    My tinnitus has been elavated for like 3-4 weeks now and i cant really find why it got louder. Ive had some misshapps happening but nothing extreme. i also feel a little bit "clogged" in my right ear where the spike is happening. Im getting less and less anxiety over "loud stuff" thats happening so thats good!

    When i was digging without earplugs i hit a stone extremly hard with my shovel and it made a superloud KLING sound... Im trying to just "go with the flow" more now and not go into panicmode everytime i hear something loud, i also try to not overprotect when i do normal not loud stuff (under 70 DB). Hope i dont spike, just wanted to do some relaxing gardening. -.-

    Its hard to do stuff in the garden atm. Need to cut stones with a grinder so i have had my dad come to cut them for me since its to loud for me. Tried drill and use a chisel but got around 110DB so i didnt dare to challenge it. Third time my dad is here now to help me cut for like 2-3 minutes each time... Man he most think im supersilly.

    Ive actually had 2 days of VERY calm and good tinnitus. Ive even manage to hammer down conrete stuff that you walk on with a rubber hammer (ofc with earplugs) and no spike! So nice being outside in the warmth and do "labour" and just be able to be to good use for once! :)

    Urk. I was outside walking with a coworker and they saw someone on the other side of the street so the one next to me litterally yelled STRAIGHT INTO my ear at the top of hes lugns for the other person to come join us. I reminded him to not do like that and he just brushed it off with "oh i forgot". Think i got a spike from it. Was wearing my 35 DB earplugs luckily enough. Anyone experience something similair?

    I've noticed from your comments that you seem very alert. I don't blame you. Ive been there. But with the "guard up" all the time, it makes it quite difficult to navigate through this. An auditory system thats is on the alert constantly, will also tune in pretty much any sound and consider it a threat.

    @MindOverMatter it seemed to "spike down" fast back to baseline. I 100% agree that im on the "alertness" more or less all the time. Its hard because everytime i havent been on "alert" ive done something stupid and ended up with a louder baseline of tinnitus :/

    I get you @Sodlin I get you, as I know how it is, but there is a difference between hypervigilance and being "smart" around soundscapes that might upset you. Being hypervigilant around sound usually make our reaction to the sound worse.

    Was putting out the trash. Had one glass bottle and placed it carefully on a plastic bag, when i dropped it feel thru the plasticbag like 50-70 cm and hit a glass bottle that was lying down in the trashcan. Could feel the loud "KLING" in my right ear....Must have been a 120 DB im just hope nothing will happen. Man this shit really takes a tool on you, glass sounds are the worst.....

    Had a drawer out and somehow managed to get my knee into it on full force. Was proper loud and i got a slight fullness in the ear from the sound. Took NAC and Magnesium instantly. Hope i wont spike.

    Same has happened to me many times, it's weird how I manage to bump myself into thing so much. Just know you're not alone :LOL:

    @orenge01 Just hate when stuff like that happens -.- My tinnitus is superloud atm but i think that is because im sick. Got a very large "lump" on my neck thats hurts alot

    Yeah tinnitus can definitely fluctuate when sick :/ , hopefully you get well soon.

    The thing i struggle with the most are meetings lately. Today i hade a 3 hour meeting with 4 persons in a small room of like 3X3 metres. One person talked SO loudly (was 82 DB on the phone when he was talking). I endured 1 hour before i just had to ask for a bathroom break and came back with earplugs inserted. Should have inserted them straight away but had no clue it was that loud.

    @orenge01 So Finland has a bad/difficult job market these days? In Norway, at the time, Id say its very good with extremely low unemployment rate.

    @MindOverMatter Yeah Norway is probably a different story. When I said this though, I kinda meant the job market in general in the world hasn't been the greatest at the moment. I mean that the requirements of skills/skill ceiling for jobs has been quite high of recent, not to mention the multiple phases now in the recruitment process.

    Today there was a "heated meeting" for like 20-30 min where ppl where raising their voices alot talking about some issues at my workplace. i sat there like an idiot without earplugs and got stressed in this 4X4 metre room with like 10 people. Should just have put my earplugs in. Got a spike. Hopefully just because of the stress of being in that enviroment. Just use ur normal indoor voice god damit....

    Been a really hard week with a loud spike that seems like it came after the change of wheelbearing on my car. Im also very tensed and i feel abit more sensitive to sounds. Im also VERY tired. on saturday its childbirthday...... Hate those birthdays with 7 hours of intense screaming children running around me......

    Had no "spike" after doing all that work on the car yesterday but today its a little bit elevated (more hissy). Think i have been abit stressed under the night and tensed myself. Will see how it goes.

    Yes. It so hard to be trying to live your life and not get tinnitus get in your way or just stop doing everything becuase of the tinnitus. its a very hard life to navigate in. My main issue is that always freak out over these thing that it "might have been to loud" then i get nervous and stressed out.

    It is difficult to navigate through, no doubt about that. The "might have" and "what ifs" is pure fuel for this condition. They are like reminders for the brain. Reminding about the trauma many of us had after getting this, or getting worse at one point. Therefore I think positive affirmations is an important tool to use to navigate life with this, and not give the fear too much space.

    @MindOverMatter Exactly those thoughts it's just feeding this condition, the key is to not even let it get that power. Don't let it have any bit of it and stand your ground. It's definitely so much easier said than done though.

    Any car mechanics in the group? I hade to change wheelbearing in my old car and i was force to use alot of "hammering" to get it out. I was wearing both Earplugs 35 DB AND Peltor 35 DB. Just looking for some reasurance because it was abit uncomfortable when there was metal on metal hit. I also manage to drop a giant ironbar when i remove the earmuffts (still earplugs in tho thank god........

    @ZFire The thing i dont understand is that i got in from the garage and the tinnitus actually felt more silent then normal and i had no earfullness after that event. The day after i woke up (after being very worried earlier after what ive done) to a bit more "hissy" tone. and today after 2 days of worrying its very "hissy" in my ears. It must be a spike from worrying or am i wrong?

    I actually "forgot" about the incident below and i didnt spike... Weird. Last 2 days i been feeling energetic and in a good mood! :)

    Urk. Was out in the factory and had a conversation with one of the workers, he didnt know the question so he yelled at the top of hes lungs straight into my face on hes coworker like 15 metres behind me for hes attention.... I could litterally feel my peltor earmuffs vibrate from hes scream. Thank god i had both earplugs and earmuffs in. I hope this wont spike me...

    Actually found this intressting find. My earplugs are 23 mm long and i always insert them fully into the ear (so much that i have problem getting them out)
    . So in this case it would mean that i dont get any occlusion effect i guess?

    I was out in the factory and had to "talk loudly/almost shouting" for like 30 seconds with earplugs deeply inserted. Im currently under at spike and abit anxious about all this "occlusion" effect. I always use Foam earplugs and it sound "quiter" when i speak then without them.

    @ZFire I also prefer the "foam ones" best. Got some costume molded but the occlusion in those just insane. Only downside is that it can be hard to hear with foam earplugs so i prefer EAR EXPRESS if i wanna be able to talk (like at birthdays, out in the store etc). They are also extremly fast to insert which is a big plus! I use Moldex "spark plugs" 35 SNR whenever i dont need to talk to someone.

    I just had a mental breakdown from my current living situation and shouted on and off for several minutes with my earplugs in and now I'm worried I made things worse.

    @kingsfan you prolly shouldnt do that but i cant imagine its making any hard unless u scream like a maniac. I always need to shout and raise my voice when im out in the factory talking to coworkers :)

    accidentally screamed when playing videogames a loud "F**K!". Ear feels abit full but hope i will be okey :)

    Dont think i got a spike from the incident posted below. (more then the anxiety from the incident). Got alittle bit "frustrated" playing videogame and "yelledish" which made me abit irritated in one ear so kinda got a "fishbowl" over my head atm but im pretty sure thats from tension. Other then that it actually feels pretty OK atm :cat:

    Ran as fast i could into the office again so was exposed to like 10-15 seconds but man that was loud! ive heard those airguns can reach up to 120 DB and very high Hertz!!! :( Kicking myself i didnt inserted the earplugs better and felt like a idiot when i came back with earmuffs to resume the conversation...... Having a "panic spike" and earpain in one ear but hopefully it will resolve after the weekend.

    I have been feeling "okeyish" for about a week now with no new spikes. Had to go out and talk to someone quick and just inserted earplug express 3M like 50% into the ears to talk to a person in the factory (all machines were off). Ofc when i was talking some idiot took the air gun to "clean" the floor with like 6-8 meters away from me.

    Trying to care more about my posture now, Stretching the SCM muscle and neck ALOT which sent my TT ballistic but i keep doing it in hope that it will calm down when i get all the muscles "stretched and calm". Hope everyone is doing good! :)

    Im still in this UBERspike. I start to think more that its my reaction + tension from the incidents that spikes me, makes no sense that dropping a catcage door that made like 100-120 DB send my TT from 4-5 to a solid 8/10. Its crazy. Anyone got tips how to adress the jaw and neck? :) Tried to go for a walk today but felt more like i was running away from people with dogs so that didnt make me more relaxed.
