Yes I’ve taken Aciclovir since 2018. Firstly 2 x 400 mg and now 4 x 200 mg. I’ve had ups and downs with symptoms since taking these. However, I am convinced that my tinnitus had reduced as a result of going gluten free. Early days yet but I suffer with allergies to meds and pollen too.

For me I have to keep clearing my throat. My allergies have always been bad.

I've taken most antihistamines commonly sold OTC in the US or Russia as well as prescription antihistamines in the US. Zero effect on my tinnitus, short term or long term. I don't use this stuff very often, only when I am miserable with allergies.

Did you have sinuplasty done? How is your tinnitus? I'm really curious since my ENT is recommending balloon sinuplasty to open my sinus.

It could very well be due to allergies. Did you have recently any head or neck trauma (whiplash e.g.) or do you work in a noisy work environment (a hidden hearing loss)?

I do not recall being on antibiotics. I was on some medication for the allergies, nothing to heavy hitting as antibiotics. I will look into the white noise apps. Thank you.

It sounds like he's treating you for sinus and allergies. I use a spray and antihistamines so I think if you try them you can tell ENT how they are working. Love glynis

May I ask if you have a history of loud noise exposure, such as going to concerts in the past without hearing protection? What about noise induced pain, clogged ears, and the perception of noises sounding overly loud?

@BuzzyBee, You could try this. It helped me a lot today. Your noise could be related to allergies and/or ETD.

Ive suspected that my seasonal allergies that causes post nasal drainage, dryness and irritation in the throat to cause a sore throat and possibly irritate Eustachian tubes resulting in increased T.

Allergies & possible sinus issues comes to mind , when I read your post. I see no connection as well between tinnitus & horseness. It's possible that if you do have allergies, laying in bed and not elevating your head can lead to possible phlegm staying in throat. Possibly an ENT can advise you...

How do we know it's allergies causing ear burning and not a damaged cochlea? Could an infection inside the cochlea being causing this? You need to find a good doctor to investigate, there's nothing we can do but speculate.

I have allergies. I was getting sinus infections quite often so the doctor told me to use Flonase. I'm use it every morning and it has helped me with no change to my T.

Then use surgical mask at home. Avoid contact with their food plates and cups.

Ive think so. Ive read several times about peoples description of their T and they add "I have (or had) a cold, allergies, etc..." And the sounds they describe are very similar to mine.

I have not yet tried it because my allergies are currently behaving, but my ENT advised using a nasal saline spray. Saline sprays are safe enough to use for infants, so I think they're very mild.

See an ENT. Unlike tinnitus, ENTs do know how to diagnose and treat ETD.
