Hey @NYCGuy, I wanted to tell you that I have a NUCCA appt coming up next week. I saw that you mentioned you did NUCCA. How'd it go for you?

I think I had best results from physical therapy than NUCCA but who knows, I hear few people getting better. I paid 10 session and over 2K and stop going. I will try now accunputure

@NYCGuy - I'm not sure if it's the same muscle as what you're describing, but I used to have an enlarged medial pterygoid muscle on the right due to jaw clenching. My dentist showed me how to massage it back down to a normal size.

Anybody weird ear felling, like a single thump or move of the ear now and then after certain sounds?
      1. ErikaS
        ErikaS
Yes I have this randomly in my left ear! I’ve had it since summer, even before my T started! I think stress and messing with my ears with ETD too much caused it. It has gotten better, only randomly happens and very inconsistent. I’ve read it’s very stressed linked, and to cut out stimulants like caffeine.

Same here. For a while, I thought it was reacting to noise. But then I realized I was subconsciously clenching my jaw whenever I heard a noise, and it was the clenching that was causing the ear movement.

I experience this from time to time I can only think it’s some form of my ttts contracting the inner ear muscle in the form of a thump or flutter

Hello! I know you're taking a break from this forum but in case you log in once in a while, did your MEM get better? Do you think it was thanks to the chiropractor or the meds you took? Mine got better for a while, I didn’t have an episode for more than a month! but I'm in the middle of one again and I could use some positivity... hope you're doing good :)

I had 4 sessions of chiropractic care and will be doing for the next few months. So far, I can say that it improved my tinnitus, I only get like one or 2 thumps after burping. , but I noticed that I get ticking sound like that of a clock when laying down not sure if its because of my neck and spine is in the process of aligning. Sorry for my english but thought id give some update. Hopefully you are all well!!

Hello, can I ask you about the people with MEM you talked to who got better? Did they do something like exercise more? Did some of them get surgery? My MEM comes and goes (for now) but I would feel a lot less anxious during episodes if I knew I could cut the muscles. hope you're doing well, have a good day!

Some people do nothing and after time goes away. Other do magnesium and COQ10, other do potassium or vitamin B.
Some many different causes it seems and surgery needs to be done for sure with laser to be successful. Even with surgery few still have the vibrations and end doing medications as Cymbalta
