There Is Much You Can Do for Your Tinnitus and Hyperacusis

@antonio77: The fact that the acupuncturist elicited or aggravated your symptoms suggests that he hit a trigger point responsible for your symptoms at least in part. I think this is very encouraging and you should try acupuncture again or Trigger Point therapy (manual therapy).

Acupuncture Made My Tinnitus Much Worse — Having C-PTSD Does Not Help Matters

...I did not take oral steroids I got, canceled an appointment for steroid injections in the ears, cancelled HBOT sessions. I thought about acupuncture but skipped. I tried some low risk supplements but these were obviously pointless. My tinnitus was mild for the first 3-4 weeks, and though it...

Repeated Modified Nerve Blocks and Auditory and Non-Auditory Nerve Stimulation

    Acupuncture for Tinnitus

I'm talking about traditional Chinese acupuncture, with needles. It's very nice, very relaxing. I think they say it is due to "kidney" malfunction, because traditional Chinese medicine understand the body as a whole, and it is a bit weird in its diagnosis, I know... but that's the way it is...

    Acupuncture for Tinnitus

Thanks for the tip about violet noise. I live in China and went to see an acupuncturist. They admitted the changes would be slight and take time. In all, they seemed to indicate acupuncture is of small but limited use. But if it helps, go for it.

At a Crossroads Four Months In — Tinnitus from Stress, Noise or Medication (Mebendazole)

I also struggled with sleep around the four-month mark. I didn't want to take anything since there's a report out there of nearly everything making tinnitus worse. But out of desperation, I started taking a very low dose (~3.5-5 mg) of Mirtazapine each night. It knocked me out, and getting more...

    SuperBetter

To be more topical, I signed up for SimplyBetter, and I'm not very impressed with it, looks like pseudoscience bullshit to me (which doesn't mean it might not be helpful to certain people for certain things... but so is homeopathy and reiki and acupuncture).

    Acupuncture for Tinnitus

I tried acupuncture for months. Though it made me feel more relaxed then I ever have been in my life, it did nothing for my T. For relaxation, treating anxiety and stress, I give it an "A+".... For T, I give it an "Incomplete"

    Universal Sound Therapy (UST)

Yes, I think it has diminished. I'm not so bothered by it during the day any more. It's in the evening that I have the worst problems. I'm not giving up, though! Will continue using the UST daily, taking vitamins and herbs, acupuncture, etc.

I tried two of the three: acupuncture for 2 months and Vinpocetine for about 2 months. Neither improved my T. If I had to guess, I think it was the dexamethazone that may have caused the improvement over the other two. Interesting nonetheless. Thanks for posting
