Good luck hope it goes well for you, I have had 3 acupuncture treatments for T, it has helped with sleep and anxiety. Very expensive here and my insurance does not help defer the cost. Will need to find other methods to control my stress.

Yes, I think it has diminished. I'm not so bothered by it during the day any more. It's in the evening that I have the worst problems. I'm not giving up, though! Will continue using the UST daily, taking vitamins and herbs, acupuncture, etc.

Starting to work for me. I’ve been doing acupoints & acupuncture with electrical stimulation since June. After today’s treatment I had near silence. Probably won’t last but it shows we can get there. I’ve gone for treatment twice a week for at least 2 hours a day. I pray this treatment works...

@Lane I had been to acupuncture right after my tinnitus onset. However I didn't have hyperaucis at that time, maybe very mild hyperacusis but nothing serious. I didn't have any improvement on my tinnitus. But maybe it can help hyperacusis. For how long have you been pain free?

I have seen 3 acupuncturists. None have helped. It actually made it spike more with the 1st. Same with Cranial Sacral Therapy, tried 2 therapists. These were covered under my plan. I did stay with the 3rd who I call the "Chi Master". I get a 2 hour acupuncture & cupping. I do find it relaxing.

Anything that reduces your stress levels should reduce tinnitus. That could be a good holiday. ..changing to a less stressful job or being treated and cared for by another individual eg an acupuncture practitioner. The longer I have T the more important I realise the psychological component is.

@Nics2drescue , I have had it done to knees and ankles and back and been ok and done for pain. Acupuncture is not a fixed cure for tinnitus and only short term reduction for some people but can be relaxing and for pain also. Love glynis x

my ENT suggested this to me the other day. If it weren't so blasted expensive I'd probably give it a try but it's not a one and done deal with acupuncture. :( Maybe in the spring I'll give it a try when hubby's pay is a little more.

The audiologist and the acupuncture are good ideas. I am doing both and they are helpful. Still, I have days that are louder than others. When they come, I listen to the masking noises or classical music on my iPod and wait for them to pass.

I tried two of the three: acupuncture for 2 months and Vinpocetine for about 2 months. Neither improved my T. If I had to guess, I think it was the dexamethazone that may have caused the improvement over the other two. Interesting nonetheless. Thanks for posting

Where did they stick those needles ? behind the ear ? maybe they hit one of those noise- damaged nerve. That would also mean a bit of pain from time to time not just high T.. Don't see how acupuncture could lead to any permanent damage - or improvement for that matter
