Fluid in Ears, Humming Tinnitus, Worried... Again!

...trying decongestant nasal sprays and taking Sudafed Sinus, but it is taking a while. Haven't tried inhaling steam, I'll try that tonight. As for allergies - I've had symptoms of what I've got now of varying degrees.... I'm not allergic to anything, that I know of, but something is triggering it!

Should I Go Back to the Doctor?

Agreed, visit the doctor. If you feel fluid in your ears, there may be fluid in your ears... It could be related to allergies, inflammation of/around the Eustachian tubes can cause both a middle ear fluid buildup and tinnitus. (I'm not a doctor, though!)

So Fed Up: Another Course of Antibiotics for Ear Infection? Could I Have Fluid in My Ear?

Do understand that the ears are very delicate and can take time to heal. Even when we finish taking an antibiotic it can still work and stay in our system for a few days or so. I get this type of issue, quite a bit and it has a lot to do with my allergies.

Singulair (Montelukast) — Anyone Here Use It/Have Any Experience with It?

I started taking Singulair when I was misdiagnosed with allergies and it was the one medication I noticed seemed to help. I figured this out by starting and stopping medications and supplements for weeks at a time and documenting what I heard/how I felt.

    Can Antidepressants Cause Hyperacusis?

No one knows... It is possible something in the Eustachian tube was damaged by very loud noise but to assume this is allergies to entirely TMJ related is problematic.

    My Journey to Silence

@Agrajag364 Dental work definitely was the starter for me, plus horrible allergies and maybe an acoustic trauma. Look at all avenues. I believe my tinnitus was caused by multiple factors, like a glass that eventually overflowed and the T settled in. Good luck!

Took Prednisolone 80 mg — I Want It Out of My Body

Pred can induce anxiety, try to calm down. If this med bothers you don't take it. I always have allergies and at one point dr told me to take pred. I refused because, I know pred can induce anxiety and I didn't want any part of it.

Vibrations/Car Engine, Jaw Pain, Fluid Behind Eardrum, Bulging Eardrum, Neck Pain

Allergies may be the problem - extensive reaction to nickel and cobalt can also cause dermatitis. Inflammation from this is first directed to ear, but then often gets directed to jaw, facial and neck muscles. You can research causes, reactions and solutions to nickel and cobalt if you haven't...

    Cold and Existing Tinnitus

Absolutely yes. Especially if I have sinus and ear congestion. My T will magnify greatly. Getting a cold that causes congestion (or allergies) spikes my tinnitus so much that it's almost like starting all over for me. At least that's how it was last time.

    LOUD Tinnitus versus MILD Tinnitus

TMJ and allergies can both cause blocked ears. Aggressive vasalva maneuver is a bad idea, but, it's very very rare for that to cause actual problems. I clear my ears all the time, I have for years, and it has zero impact on my ringing.

Tinnitus Coinciding with Ear and Sinus Infection + Diagnosed with ETD and Conductive Hearing Loss

Have you looked into balloon dilation of the Eustachian tube? It's not for everyone, but if you can't pinpoint any particular allergies and it's not due to teeth clenching or grinding at night or hormonal changes, they can sometimes dilate the tubes with a balloon. I think it's kind of a new...
