ibuprofen + codeine is on the T cause list, so I wouldn't bet on it to improve T if it in fact can create T. I did quite some amounts of ibuprofen + codeine in the months prior to my T. I can only speculate to what extent it contributed, but it's always on the list of potential T creators.

If you have pains use turmeric as it's great for pain relief. I recommend using NAC or getting trobalt asap as it may help stabilise your condition before it gets worse. Yours may not be permanent, but I'm afraid nobody can say for sure. Good luck.

@buttercake, consider yourself lucky that you can take Ibuprofen. It is known to cause tinnitus. I’ve had this long enough to know that every time I go near it it’s a really bad idea and really sets it off!

Ibuprofen has been my go to all my life, so including before tinnitus. Never had any adverse effects. That's my experience.

Probably Paracetamol? I personally took Ibuprofen several times with no adverse effects (but for no more than 2 days in a row). Since your tinnitus had already an oscillatory nature, I would be careful in blaming the Advil for the current spike you are experiencing.

I take 2x 200mg Ibuprofen without a problem, when needed. It actually helps when my ear feels inflamed and like burning. Everyone's body chemistry is different. Hope you are feeling well.

Actually, Pitocin is just the brand name of synthetic Oxytocin. Kinda like how Advil is the brand name of ibuprofen or Tylenol is the brand name of acetaminophen. I’m a pharmacist and know this.

Funny that I forgot that I was taking ibuprofen when my T started as well!

I also suffer from bad headaches occasionally. I usually try to rough it out, but maybe I’ll try some OTC painkillers next time.

Welcome to the forums. Yeah ibuprofen can be ototoxic, but it's actually pretty rare. How long were you taking it? It usually would have to be over a fair amount of time to damage the ears with ibuprofen. But it isn't unheard of.
