@Michael Leigh, I have found Clonazepam to be vital. However, it sometimes takes up to 24 hours to reduce the intensity, and I find the effect lasts for about another 24 hours. The effect seems even more pronounced when I combine it with Deanxit.

This is the best post I’ve read in a while. Until something better comes along, this is your best approach for addressing your tinnitus if it is severe.

Xanax shouldn't be taken along with the large doze of Clonazepam he took, which is also a benzo, with a much longer half life than Xanax. Mind over matter might work for stable mild to moderate tinnitus.

There is no real pattern. I take 2-3 mg Diazepam several days a week, and low dose Gabapentin (300-600 mg) every day. I use Clonazepam twice a week to once a week, however usually with Gabapentin and Deanxit.

There's a thread about Carbamazepine that you might find helpful. Some people report benefits from using it, while others don't. A few members here take it in combination with Clonazepam, though it's worth noting that it can cause negative side effects for some individuals.

Besides Clonazepam, Gabapentin helps a little, and Cyclobenzaprine as well when I tried it. I've been using a cocktail approach.

I never stopped Rivotril. You should not stop it if you take Deanxit. Rivotril counters an annoying side effect of Deanxit (Parkinson spasms).
