When Anxiety Is Worse Than Mild Tinnitus Itself

Trigger warning: depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and emotional distress. Hey. This is going to be a long and sad story, so maybe grab some tea and snacks. Apologies in advance for any grammatical mistakes. I'm a 31-year-old man, and life has rarely been pleasant for me. Since the age...

Tinnitus Since 2007, Considering DMSO as a Potential Treatment

Absolutely do what feels comfortable for you. Increase slowly, since the itching can be quite bothersome. I was reading about another study from the early 1900s that used 40 percent DMSO. Patients would lie on their side and apply two to three drops directly onto the eardrum. I am thinking about...

Great news, I’m glad it worked for you. I have experienced something similar to what you described, though not to the same degree. Our ears are extremely sensitive to pressure—just ask anyone who has flown on a plane. My tinnitus is not very stable either. There are times when it is really...

No, you should embrace your life. Give it time, i promise you, it will get better. Don't make any rational decisions. Isolating yourself more is not a good option, it never is. Am I the Unluckiest Person on Earth When It Comes to Tinnitus? My 6-Year Tinnitus Nightmare: How One Festival Changed My Life

Nice summary, @trevl, and it matches my experience as well. That said, we still do not know the full story of what is going on. There could be tinnitus, and then there could be tinnitus. What I mean is that the auditory system is incredibly complex. Of course, noise-induced tinnitus is...

Does Ear Fullness = Hearing Loss?

You have hearing loss. Acoustic trauma, followed by tinnitus, hyperacusis, and a sensation of ear fullness, are all signs of damage to the hearing cells. A standard audiogram performed by an audiologist, which typically includes only 6 or 8 data points, is often insufficient to detect this...
