Rivotril is a better drug than xanax all around. It's certainly not innocent but if you plan to continue taking some some of anti-anxiety med, rivotril is the better choice. But as you might have read, taking such drugs for a long time (usually more than 3-4 weeks) is not a good idea.

You may want to try and go see your doc' ask for anti-anxiety meds for a short period of time. I'm pretty much against drugs in general, but you have to admit it does help at times. The more stressed out you get, the more your body will react negatively to everything that's happening to you.

Think about getting anti anxiety medication. Take something which is not known to increase Tinnitus. I'm on Paxil which helped me tremendously two times but takes up to 6 weeks until the effects are there. Before that I suggest taking a Benzo up to twice a week, not more, for the worst anxiety...
