I was thinking about this earlier as well.I'll be surprised if Trump's efforts result in a significant dip in the estimated 20,000,000 illegal aliens. In fact, I see he is already backing down on deporting illegals who are working for farms, hotels, and restaurants. The Biden administration let in millions very quickly, and anyone deported will be ready to rush back in after Trump leaves office.
It's highly unlikely that he will be able to deport more than a fraction of the 15 to 20 million undocumented immigrants during his term. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported that, as of June 11, 2025, over 207,000 migrants have been deported. This occurred over a span of 142 days, averaging 1,458 deportations per day. That is a significant number, but I believe Trump would like to raise it to 3,000 or more per day.
Many individuals are also self-deporting in hopes of having the option to return legally in the future. Things are improving now that the borders are more secure and illegal immigration has dropped substantially.
