I like the Dark Souls-games a lot, also my current username is based on Phendrana from Metroid Prime. :3

I have over 900 hours logged on Dark Souls 3. I've invaded so, so much.

The Soulsborne-games are special in the way they've reawakened some parts of humanity's desires, and I am happy that I got to partake in their early days.

I haven't played Bloodborne personally much(only the first bits until the Cleric Beast), but I've seen it played a lot, and gone through the general lore.

I want to play Elden Ring, but I can't afford it, heh. Maybe one day I will. It looks fantastic, of course, but I've avoided looking much at gameplay because there is only once chance to play it for the first time, should I get to play it eventually.

I've only put about an hour into Elden Ring, I need to put some more time into it.

Bloodborne actually might be my favorite game of all time. I love the aesthetic too. I wish they would upgrade it for PS5 because going back now and playing at 30 fps is pretty terrible to me.

I've watched the kid play Bloodborne. Looks like an excellent game. He just started up Dark Souls 3. So it's fun to watch.

Yeah, after playing a bunch of PS5 games that target 60 FPS, it really is hard to go back to 30 FPS. It just looks so slow and sluggish.

I got a couple of new games for Nintendo Switch.

Infernax is a game similar to Castlevania II: Simon's Quest and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link in which you can choose to be good or evil, so it has a lot of replay value. I have played through it once and it's a decent game, a bit rough around the edges and I dislike that you can't control the jump height.

      Infernax - Launch Trailer

Blasphemous is a 2D Metroidvania-style game that takes a lot of inspiration from the Dark Souls games. It's a really well made and challenging game that I highly recommend. I had it digitally before but I wanted to have it on a physical cartridge.

I’ve been eyeing Blasphemous for a while and glad to see you recommending it. I like your taste in gaming as I find it similar to mine, so I’ll pick this up soon. I tend to also see it go on sale frequently via eShop. The trailer certainly does give off that Dark Souls vibe. Is the leveling system similar to Dark Souls as well? Ex, Str, Dex, Vit, Stamina etc

      Cool!

It's been a few years since I played it, but if I remember it correctly you don't level up in Blasphemous, so it's not as complex as Dark Souls in that regard with stat points etc.

You do get this currency from killing enemies though that you can spend on upgrades for your character.

Haha, I know the struggle... I didn't find a single one playing through that same game.
I randomly stumbled upon a shiny Eevee though very early in Pokemon Y.

Anyone here plays oldschool Runescape? :)

Other games I play or have played a lot are:
      • CS:GO
      • League of Legends
      • World of Warcraft
      • Valheim

Actually used to compete at local LANs in CS:GO some years ago, those were the days! :D

I've put about 20 hours into Elden Ring this last week and I LOVE IT. Not sure if it can top Bloodborne for me but it's really good!

Not anymore, but around 2006 - 2008 I played it almost too much.

It has a certain charm that I have not found in any other MMORPG. That you drop your inventory when you die adds a lot of excitement to it. I remember the thrill of the wilderness!

Tried it a bit again when it was released for mobile phones a few years ago. It was nice to revisit the game but I find it a bit too time consuming these days.

      Are you playing?

It’s one of the few MMOs I could ever get into as well. What still blows my mind is that it had a life like simulated economy where periods of inflation and deflation on goods/weapons/armor/etc can actually happen.

I used to chop yew logs for many hours. Can’t see myself doing that again lol.

I do, way too much!

Me and some of my friends play the "newest mode" called Group Ironman.

A Regular Ironman is an account which cannot trade or buy/sell/pickup anything from other players, this game mode adds a whole new depth of the game.

And in October they added Group ironman, where the same rules apply BUT you can trade with your group of 2-5 players. So it becomes more like a team-oriented experience!

I am playing Cyberpunk since the next-gen patch was released. And... that's awesome :D It's really the kind of game I love (combination of role playing, shooting and driving). And I am really glad I waited for that patch.

It was so different when I tried it last year (the main issue was that the environment did not seem lively at all, thus not really immersive).

And... now the game does not crash every two hours anymore :D

Before that I played Ratchet & Clank: a Rift Apart. An amazingly fun (and beautiful) game! Really love the haptic features of the PS5 controller.

My PS5 produces a high pitch coil whine when playing graphically intensive games (60fps dynamic 4K etc), and it’s starting to piss me off.

Anyways, I beat Kena Bridge of Spirits. A short, but very solid action adventure game. Good exploration, puzzles, platforming, and combat. Story was serviceable, nothing to write home about.

The combat however can get ridiculously difficult. The difficulty curve skyrockets to insane levels during boss fights and they put your ass to work. You got to time your attacks and master all your abilities. I did play on hard difficulty.

Would it be possible to put in a cupboard while you play it?

I haven't owned many of the modern day consoles, that is to say, since wireless controllers became a regular feature. But if it's still possible to link your controller to the console via a cable, I'm assuming you'd be able to shut the console inside a (PC) cupboard and then run the leads in through the back.

I've had the same problem with PCs and some other fanned devices since 2009, and this is my go to solution where possible.

War Zone! Pointless but so much fun. I have Ghost of Tsushima and Far Cry 6 which I have been trying to get into but I can't focus anymore. The tinnitus is too distracting. It'ss so cool 4K in 60 FPS HDR. Video games are a great hope though.

      Anyone try Dangerous Elite?

I’ll have to look into cupboards, thanks. The PS5 is a meter away from my monitor. The thing is when I’m playing games that are much less demanding performance wise, it’s the quietest thing I’ve ever heard. It only happens when I play a PS5 game. PS4 games on PS5 are amazingly quiet.
