How and Why Did You Choose Your Username?

I'm curious... I know a lot were chosen because of tinnitus... mine was.
Once Upon a Time I lived happily without tinnitus...

Hopefully one day will change to...

Hi, Once. Did you ever watch the TV show Once Upon a Time? I think about it every time I see your name pop up on the forum. I never missed an episode, it was a good show, so entertaining.

emmalee was the name of my very beloved cat, she was with me during one the hardest times in my life. I made it through that time. It seemed very appropriate to use the name when I signed up as a member here on TT.

My first name is kind of unusual and I didn't want anyone to recognise me (I know, what are the chances lol) so I changed one of the letters to a random letter. Sort of wish I had chosen something else now - it reminds me of 'tinny', which is a bit close to the bone with Tinnitus!

Wondering if we could change our screennames now that you mentioned that...at least once.

 

First name is unusual, so used my middle name.

 

When I first joined up I didn’t give any real consideration to my avatar as I was mega distressed. Basically, I named myself after the killing machine in Robocop: ED-209.

We both shared the same name and we both had a processing error that led to some pretty dire consequences, and not to mention the loud noise (when it’s guns go off). I didn’t give it this much thought at the time, but on a subconscious level, I guess this is what made me pick it.

Pokemon is the ish.

 

It's from a video game character from Final Fantasy 7, Cloud Strife.

I've used this user name since late 90s in certain places. But the character in my avatar is from street fighter game.

 

I obviously use the name ‘Jazzer’ because ever since picking up a cornet at ten years of age I knew that I wanted to be a musician.

Then at about fifteen I heard the majestic phrases of Louis Armstrong, and knew that it was the only music that would give me the freedom to express my melodic ideas.
In 2014 I experienced a devastating acoustic trauma, I went to bed just as normal, and woke up in hellish noise, with my music ripped out of my heart, never to come back.
I still have the heart and mind of a jazz musician, but my ears are wrecked.
My job is to accept it, and make ‘something’ of the rest of my life.

 

Unfortunately we can't, they advise that when you first choose your name. Problem is that when we first sign up we're in such a bad place, we just put in any old rubbish and regret it later!

 

What would you choose if you had another chance, Tanni, and I promise any time I see you post in future I will imagine that name instead

 

It’s real crap to have music stolen in this way.
