Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

Well, that's a very simplistic resume of the approach but yes, it wouldn't surprise me. Perhaps this is one of those many complicate issue/simple solution cases.

 

They are in synch I believe and rippling across the tongue piece I think.

 

@Allan1967 and @Cojackb it seems your tinnitus fluctuates a lot recently, was it always like that or do you attribute this to influence of Lenire?

 

Per the specialist I saw about it, my case is typical of visual snow due to an underlying migraine disorder, in my case he thinks my "Meniere's" is really vestibular migraines and the clue is my type of visual snow--hard to see stars even.

I also have mild floaters but only see those in the day. Feel free to message me if you want to hear more about it.

 

Personally, it's certainly been more active since starting the treatment. More frequent fleeting spikes and much more activity in regards to daily variation in volume.

Prior to that my tinnitus had settled to a constant and was rarely bothered by loud noises, mostly just lack of sleep.

 

Mind letting us know how you brought the device back? Or PM me if you don't want to broadcast it?

I am also in the US and hope to do the same so I wouldn't mind some advice from someone who has already walked the path.

 

I just put it in my carry on and threw away the main packaging. Besides they're only checking your carry on, on the way out. I don't believe I've ever been checked on my return into the country.

 

If they're checking the carry ons on the way out, wouldn't they check for when you go to the follow up appointments?

 

TSA is the only government agency that checks on your way out. When you put your bag to go through the x-ray at the security check it is to make sure you are aren't bringing a bomb, a water bottle or nail clippers on a plane. They could give a hoot less about another electronic doodad in your bag. They might not even have a legal mandate to screen for unapproved medical devices.

Long and short I wouldn't give it two thoughts.

 

I feel like the regular requirements I had looked over make it very much possible to import normally. Although if this is easier and more guaranteed... then maybe I'll go with the Apple sticker.

Remake The Mule with Lenire.

 

We'll see if @linearb jumps down everyone's throat over that approach or I'm just special.

 

My understanding was that UMich didn't think attention mattered one whit, the machine just does what it does. That sounds like something that will need follow up work to understand.

 

There's US customs officers in Dublin airport, you can expect the same rigor when flying Dublin-USA.

Perhaps a tent to camp out on the front yard of the Neuromod's office, that way any questions or concerns one may have you can ring the belly and ask away... And perhaps buy a Shepherd's pie for the folks inside to get on their good side.

I went to London and had to fly through Dublin to the U.S. I remembered being asked unnecessary borderline inappropriate questions by CBP at Dublin airport.

 

I plan to try Lenire maybe next year! I have heard that they will probably arrive in Germany and Belgium in 2020, and I am lucky that these two countries are right next to me

Well after some prompting I finally got my response today. It took Neuromod about 16 days to respond...

To all those members booking appointmens knowing in advance that they're not going to attend it:

You are SCREWING all the rest of us who are craving for having the appointment ASAP. Think twice before you keep FUC**NG with your fellow tinnitus sufferers' time, health and lives.

Then there's that outrageous CUSTOMS loop. Stop that mantra, please. Act like if it were an MP3 player. I bet it isn't the first time you pretend something like that. Remember porno + mum.

We deserve more dynamic posts in here, please.

 

That is the message we are all getting. I don't even want to imagine how Neuromod's inbox looks.

It makes me worried whether or not they are going to keep some sort of order to make the appointments for 2020 or if they will do it again randomly. Which would seem unfair to me.

 

And who might those people be?

Fact is if someone drops out someone else will move up in the queue and get their chance. Only last minute dropouts are wasting people's time.

 

I picked up my device yesterday and have done my first few sessions. No reaction either way to report as yet.

There isn't much to add that hasn't previously been covered in the comprehensive reports posted previously, but if anyone has any specific questions about the device / appointments / process that haven't been answered already, feel free to ask - PM or on the thread.

Can you describe how to get to the right office once you enter through the main entrance?

 

Go upstairs to the 2nd floor and then make your way to Suite 38. Everything's well signed, so it's easy to find.

 

Out of curiosity, is anyone who currently has the device using it for more than the recommended two half-hour daily sessions?

Just as an FYI for everyone I have attempted to contact several UK clinics - all have no timeframe and are still in talks with Neuromod. Looks like a UK release is still some time away.

 

I'm just using it for two sessions a day, one at 12:00 and one at 21:00. I asked Caroline about using it for more and she said there would be no benefit. They are more focused on making sure you use it every day and don't forget or get lazy and that you do it around the same time each day.

The trial showed that those who did it at the same time each day got the best results. There was no evidence that 2x 30 minutes was better or worse than 1x60 minutes but I think they feel that 60 minutes is a long time to sit and do nothing, and people might start to dislike doing it after a few weeks.

 

Neuromod contacted me.

My first appointment was the 1st of November but now a date is available sooner because of a cancellation.

My appointment is now the 18th of October at 14:30pm... Can’t wait!

 

Exhibit A for why people cancelling aren't so bad. It will all work itself out in the end.
