It's unfortunate that you're not improving, Allan, but please don't channel your frustration into conspiracy theories.

The white noise isn't pleasant for me, I blame it on the temporary spike I get. If it isn't necessary for the treatment they should remove it.

I can actually hear my tinnitus increasing as the session gets half way through and it almost blends in with the white noise. They are calling me next week as part of the follow up process so I'll ask about it.

It's really hard to determine if this is working or not. Hopefully for the User Experience Group the admins are taking note for how long each person has had tinnitus. Because if you had it a year, or under a year, it could be natural healing, or placebo with stress induced tinnitus? Who knows.

I think the real hardcore proof that this works will be with people who have noise induced tinnitus and are 2 year+ sufferers.

Very much agree. And I am very happy Hazel confirmed that they are collecting that data, as I find it utterly important to determine the credibility of this device.

I was saying that for those that are saying it might just be natural healing and not the treatment. It could be the treatment doing its job by speeding it up for the newer cases. I didn't say anything about longer ones, and personally I hope it can help everyone.

Have you tried turning the volume and / or the tonguetip down a bit Allan?

I find the tonguetip is barely noticeable, but I turn the volume down by 2 clicks on the headphones on every session. It says in the book that the default settings should be left alone, but when I got the gear, Ciara said it was fine to adjust it as necessary. Also, Caroline said adjusting the settings wouldn't affect the efficacy of the treatment.

Alternatively, they did say it was feasible to take a few days' break from the treatment regime if you were struggling with it. Don't give up on it entirely dude.

Yeah, but fact is we can't know, and for me the most important thing right now is finally finding out exactly how effective this device is, and we are not going to find that out by people who have the treatment in the natural healing phase which is roughly the first 6-24 months.

Of course I wish all people who are having the treatment the very best of luck and I truly hope their tinnitus lowers, but personally I can't use the reports from people with "new" tinnitus for anything.

I try to be optimistic about Lenire but don't forget that it's not the University of Minnesota device. Even if Hubert Lim is involved in both projects.

The only way to know for sure if it works for you is to give it a try, testimonials will never give you an answer.

      @Allan1967,

I really hope it gets better for you. Stay strong and confident.
As far as I remember, EVERY participant's tinnitus in the clinical trial at least went back to baseline, even if it got louder in the beginning. It is worth to keep on going. Maybe they can remove the white noise from the sounds.

If people here report a big improvement, this is really great and I am glad for them.

But I am coming from a very high THI score and severe tinnitus having it for almost 6 years.
I am mostly interested in the severe cases and if they have success.

Hopefully, this device is soon available in Germany.

I think every report helps a lot. If @Redknight has had tinnitus for 5 months it can hardly be coincidence that it's fading now just when he started the treatment.
I for myself cannot wait to get my appointment, and if this doesn't work, I will get my hands on Dr. Shore's device.

      Another question:

Lenire is targeting the DCN, right?

My tinnitus is pretty somatic, 1000 crickets in my head and I have no measurable hearing loss.
Could that be considered a positive expectation for a successful treatment with bimodal stimulation?

      Cheers, have a good weekend!

I'm not trying to be negative, but is the Lenire returnable for a refund if it doesn't help your tinnitus? I had a SoundCure and I returned it after 2 months for a full refund. I was just wondering what the policy was on the Lenire. I do hope it works for most people as we need something for relief.

I know it won't be available for quite some time in the U.S. anyway. I guess we will have to see how it pans out in Europe.
