Here is mine, I built this a little bit before the GPU price hikes and all of that:

      CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
GPU: XFX RX580 originally had a Sapphire Pulse 5600 XT but I returned it when I got a PS5 pre order
      RAM: 32gb DDR4
      Storage: 1 TB MX500 SSD + 256gb SSD
      Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max
      PSU: 550w Gold
      Case: NZXT H510

Currently looking for a new monitor to go with my setup. I never ended up really using my PC for gaming as none of my friends have a gaming PC and then I ended up getting a PS5 so I mostly use that for gaming as it is just much easier that way as I am horrible with graphics settings lol.

Ever since my tinnitus onset, I don't really use my PC or PS5 for gaming anymore because of the fan noise and stuff but I am looking to try and use them more to get my mind off of things.

Damn you got a really nice build. I'm jealous lol. I want to get one of the new graphics cards as well but they are just so hard to get at the moment.

I hope to build my own PC one day once my issues go away.

I would like to build a PC with Noctua fans as I heard they are not as loud as the other brands. It would be nice if Noctua started building fans with RGB lighting.

This is also the case I was thinking of getting. It seems like the consensus for best temps.

PCPartPicker is a great website to find out if your parts are compatible with each other.

The most important thing is you make sure you buy a high enough wattage for your PSU. For example if you want to run a RTX 3080 graphics card you need a PSU with at least 750 W or higher.

With this setup he would gross around $9-$14 per day based on the most recent surge in prices, not factoring in the cost of electricity, just in case you are actually curious.

Those new Mac Minis with the M1 chip are great value for their price, considering the inflation of PC parts at the moment, and it won't even be that loud. If you are looking to upgrade that could be a good choice for you depending on your needs, I believe it was $100 off at Costco a while ago.

I wanted the white Phanteks P500A for the longest time because it looks the cleanest to me. I settled with the Lian Li as the Phanteks was always OOS or Backordered. I've been really happy with the Lian Li and the temps I'm getting.

CPU: i5-9600KF. I'm a little bummed that I went for the KF once I realized it means I have no integrated graphics.
      GPU: GeForce RTX 2060
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB. These seems to be really popular.
      Motherboard: MSI Z370-A Pro
Case: Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced. This is really old and the only thing remaining from the original PC I bought in 2012.
      Monitor: Samsung 27'' LED Curved.

I had some cooling issues lately so I had to replace my water cooler and I added a new Noctua fan in the front.

I also got a DisplayPort cable, upgrade from HDMI, so I can finally use the full potential of my monitor.

I got screwed over hard by integrated graphics. In mid 2015 I purchased an integrated graphics Asus Notebook with 8 gigs of RAM and didn't notice a problem until 2017 when I wanted to game. Most modern 3d games just don't work with integrated graphics, and this year I noticed more issues when it came to using graphic design software. Most things work fine but it will lag when doing resource intensive tasks that involve rapidly updated previews (such as brushes that smear and drag thousands of pixels).

I'm done with the integrated graphics meme and I am purchasing a new desktop with a normal GPU which I will acquire within a month. Be warned everyone if you have interest in gaming or using a computer as a graphic design, 3d modelling or video workstation. You need to stay the hell away from integrated graphics. Integrated graphics is only useful for office work, programming or people that just live in a browser. Any other; even moderate, resource intensive work will get screwed over by its limitations. I don't even know why integrated graphics is a thing.

Can't Apple sue people for that? They have to protect their "image". So many debates are going on rather Hackintoshes are legal or not. It seems for sure it is illegal to sell them, but individuals building them for private use seem protected.

      upload_2021-4-29_0-7-16.png

      --

Another thing about Apple that is unrelated.

Like Windows, Apple has lots of commercial software, but not much backward compatibility.
Updating to a new version of OSX always risk breaking existing software; even PAID SOFTWARE. The vendor must release a patch to fix it. Which they'll usually do for a year or so, but eventually they drop maintenance of that version and move on. This is most devastating when it comes to perpetual licenses to legacy Adobe, Corel or Sketch products. Because you won't even have the option to repurchase a perpetual update. The Mac user will be forced into the modern subscription based crap.

OSX Catalina (2018) was notorious for breaking backward compatibility with all 32 bit apps and even a share of 64 bit apps (like usual). If Mac users paid for perpetual licenses to commercial software that was 32 bit, IT WAS GONE (buy it again). If Apple switches from AMD64 to ARM, all the apps will break. Just to show I am not talking out my ass, here is an example of Apple (re-breaking the wheel) with the AMD64 to ARM transition.

All Your Questions on Apple's Move Away from Intel, Answered

      upload_2021-4-29_0-26-25.png

So basically if a Mac user legally paid for a perpetual license to 1000 dollar graphic design or DJ studio software from six years ago, the chance of it working on the latest Mac today is very low. Macs are the reason commercial vendors are deprecating perpetual licenses and moving everything to the cloud SaaS (software as a service) only model. Basically making it illegal to own software, you just rent it from some guys cloud server.

      upload_2021-4-29_0-36-40.png

Macs are the reason perpetual licenses are going away. Apple has billions of dollars to solve this problem, but they only choose to make it worse by jumping architectures.

I would screw it up and waste time and money.

The reason I bought a new hard drive was solely due to the fact that my new graphical hobbyist workflow was getting screwed over hard by integrated graphics and a weak 2.20 GHz processor. I would have used this notebook for another 6 years if it wasn't for that. And for example someone who does nothing but browse the Internet and watch videos can use a very low end device.

My idea to purchase a new setup started when I was using this painting and illustration software called Krita, and I noticed whenever I enabled glow, bevel or shadow layer effect setting that even small brushes would lag horribly. Disabling the layer effects setting solved the problem. But I wanted to take advantage of those core features of the app. My friend online showed me he could effortlessly use 2000 pixel brushes with multiple layer effects enabled. My shit processor and integrated graphics was blamed after showing my specs. That is when I cracked and realized I needed to get a device with better specs.

This is what I purchased. I was told that these specs will solve my issue.

I got my new PC last Saturday. I would have built it myself, but the unavailability of parts made that impossible this year. It's actually far cheaper at the moment to have someone else build it to your spec for you. It's crazy.

      This is what I've got:

      CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X

      MOBO: ASUS PRIME X570-P

RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3600MHz (2x8GB)

Seagate 1TB FireCuda SSD & Seagate 2TB BarraCuda

GPU: Gigabyte Aorus Master Type C RX 6800 XT 16GB

Cooling: Corsair Hydro H100i RGB Platinum

      PSU: Corsair 750W TX750M

      Wi-fi: AXP3000

      Monitor: LG 4K 27UL600

I went full-on RGB with everything. I used to think this stuff was tacky as f***, but I've lightened up a bit since (pardon the pun), and I've got 2 kids, so I figured the customisable lighting effects are actually kinda cool and may keep them entertained, also.

      348EBD41-AB6C-4ACB-9780-1D217B4FBD49.jpeg

The graphics card has got an LCD screen on it where you can load your own images and gifs. It starts with an animated egg that slowly turns into a baby dragon, which then becomes an adult dragon, over the course of a few hours. I ain't owned a PC for years, but I used to be an enthusiast, and when I saw the stuff that is out there now, I generally thought, WTF?

Here's my pet dragon, > click.

And here's he all grown up, bless him > click.
