Can you please post you results for the forum Glenn? If you don't want to I understand.

Audiogram results or not, has it helped your tinnitus on a scale of (1-10)?

That's what might be more important here to assess for some people tuning in here...

      My son likes squirrel barbecued.
I am not to keen on rat, but meat is meat and I am not a snob.
These are country rats, not city rats as you would guess.
Laos food is generally simple, soups, grilled fish, meat.
But there is one staple, a fermented fish sauce that does not exist in our pallet. You have to acquire the taste as a kid, I mentioned that before.

My ears are bumming me out.

Oh yeh, the Minbo Shim thread, we can’t let it die can we.

Bad business move doubling the prices, but he does sound super skilled.

The doctor in Sarasota Florida sounds pioneering with his hyperacusis surgery.

Shim and the doctor in Florida are renegades, hands on in the trenches, making shit happen.

I’ve been following this thread for two years, or for a while, and it has been a hell of ride and very interesting.

Maybe it’s RIP time for this thread?

Hope you're well brother and enjoying your motor bikes in the summertime.
      Catch you around.

Well, Shim claimed he could improve mine and Glenn's hearing, and despite how I feel, it didn't show on either of our audiograms, which it should have.

Same here. I have a static sound. I hope you can find some relief bud. I have some lower back problems too that affect my toes. They get numb and sting. I take gabapentin for now.

I was trying to revive a dead horse. Maybe you are right though.

I am riding a little bit on them. Saves on gas for small errands. I have storage on both bikes.

Do you travel to Vietnam some? I see they have a long coastline by the ocean.

My tinnitus is much better, most days. Like 1/10 days it flares back up which is weird. Right now I only have a faint hiss in my left ear that is very easy to tune out even in a quiet environment. The fact is that I have no evidence and the treatment purports to improve hearing, with tinnitus being a secondary issue. Do I think the PRP treatments helped? Yes. However, I have zero evidence. Glenn's hearing did not seem to improve significantly either, so...

He touts audiograms on his website showing hearing improvement and that's what we are paying for and it didn't seem to manifest.

I'd like to announce that this is a cure for tinnitus but I just can't. If this were something you could drive to a nearby clinic and pay much less for I'd say go for it, but you have to fly to Seoul which is very inconvenient. Frequency Therapeutics has a drug that does improve hearing and is probably 10,000x more effective than PRP. For the cost, I think it would be better to just wait for FX-322. It is looking like FX-322 is a real winner after their deal with the Japanese and they said they would request fast track status if everything went well, which it seems like it is. Even then, I'm starting to believe that tinnitus isn't just a problem with hearing loss, or the cochlea, but with hyperactivity in the dorsal cochlear nucleus. If that is the case, then it seems like Lenire will be the best treatment because it is the only thing we know of that is affecting that via the trigeminal (or vagus?) nerve. What else is on the horizon that affects the dorsal cochlear nucleus? Tinnitus is a mixed bag.

I got a slight improvement but not nearly enough.

I found an ENT near me that has an office, but also, he has a skin place that does PRP, and they do other things, under one roof.

I would have approached him if I got significant results in Korea, but what do I show him? An audiogram that won’t convince anyone to continue these treatments.

The PRP could be really good long term... after I’m long broke...

You guys took one for the team, and shared it with everyone in a very honest and transparent way.

Your research has given us knowledge about the Shim treatment that Shim doesn't. You may have saved others from spending $18K, all the time, the pain, but most importantly the risks involved.

      @Daniel Lion: well said.

@JohnAdams & @GlennAz: thank you for the pioneer work you did. I followed your effort on this site day-by-day. I really hope we can have a beer once Frequency Therapeutics or Audion helps us out.

Thank you for your kind words, but I didn’t go 100% for altruistic reasons. I wanted healing. If I can be a blessing to others, that’s great. But I went hoping for better results.

But I still got a wonderful, internal nose job. Having my former deviated septum smashed, and reset, has made a very big difference for me.

If FX-322 comes near me, I’ll be there... getting stuck... and maybe I’ll bring a bottle of tequila to take the edge off the injection discomfort...

Perhaps we should start a new thread devoted to growth factors since they are not going away and will be utilized more and more in hearing regeneration and healing.

      @JohnAdams @GlennAz

Thank you so much for posting about your experiences with Dr. Shim. He seems like a really genuine guy and I applaud you for seeking out treatments like this and sharing it.

I have a question for you guys that I am not sure you will be able to answer but it's one that I've been thinking about a lot. I have tinnitus but no hearing loss and I am interested in trying stem cells (adipose or cord blood), but because I have no hearing loss and I have another medical condition that can benefit from stem cell therapy, I don't necessarily feel like I need them to be injected into my ear. I would prefer to try IV method (like the method of SC 21) but I would prefer to avoid Bangkok because I also have a heat sensitivity.

I was wondering, from what you know of Dr. Shim, do you know if he would be open to IV stem cell injections? And does he ever use adipose or cord blood instead of bone marrow (sounds painful)?

I am also considering a US based clinic (I am located on the West Coast), but I'm having trouble finding one that does IV injections... I don't know if you have come across any in your research or in your interactions with others.

Ok, for anyone else who is interested. I did skype Dr. Shim and he said IV injected adipose stem cells is something he can do, although it's not something he usually recommends to his patients.
