      Hello.

I'm now 90% cured from tinnitus & hyperacusis and I think in 5-6 months I will be 100% cured.

I passed a continuous nightmare. I died. Every millisecond I was worse than hell but time / sound avoidance / good diet / good sleep patterns and multivitamin cured me 90%.

I got severe tinnitus and severe hyperacusis from benzos.

Never ever get benzos, the hell is nothing, new definition of word hell is benzos.

I'm off from benzos for about 5.5 months and in the first 3.5 months I died every millisecond.

Don't ever get psychiatric drugs for tinnitus. You sign your death warrant with these drugs.

Only multivitamins, noise avoidance, good sleep, and high doses corticosteroids (only the first days of fresh tinnitus) can cure tinnitus, anything else is a scam and will give you most times worse tinnitus.

Well done. Just one question, how do you sleep without benzos?

+1, I'd also love to know what you use for sleep if not benzos. (I mean I'm aware that mirtazapine/nortriptyline/amitriptyline are available and recommended on this board, I just wonder what you personally have been using.)

I say 90% cured but most of the time I'm 100% cured.

I cured without drugs. sSme drugs only give temporary relief but in the long term make the tinnitus & hyperacusis much worse & sometimes incurable -> stay away.

With benzos I lost my sleep. I had 3 continuous weeks with only 15-20 mins per day sleep.

The first 3 months withdrawing from benzos I had NO sleep at all. I was in hell. I died every millisecond.

After the freaking withdrawal syndrome from benzos (1000 times much worse than heroin), my sleep improved day by day and now I sleep 90% normal.

I sleep 6.5 to 8 hours per day... as my sleep improved my tinnitus was better and now I'm near totally cured.

I write this message to help others not make the tragic mistake and take psychiatric drugs, benzos / antidepressants / antipsychotics, they all are HIGHLY ototoxic and can only make tinnitus & hyperacusis worse.

How long did you have the tinnitus post benzos? I see from your profile you had it from 2008, then it went, then you had a relapse.

Don’t get overly excited, I also got 90% cured and after 2-3 years it came back 5x worse, just be careful, do not go to clubs or concerts even with ear plugs.

It is true. My tinnitus came back worse because I went to a concert with earplugs. However, I believe that if I had not made that mistake it would have remained at a mild level for many more years.

I felt the sound pass through my body. This is what happens when many sound vibrations occur in a closed space. I stayed at the club because the sound was bassy, and I thought "only high frequencies are dangerous".

Thank you. There is definitely some kind of improvement, except 1 or 2 days a week that makes a spike. But I'll have to improve a lot more to stop being annoying :( It was only audible in quiet rooms before the show.

I got tinnitus from sudden hearing loss (hearing returned with corticosteroids) tinnitus cured after long time (about 2 years).

Came back from benzos and loud music and cured again after 1 year.

Got second time sudden hearing loss but this time with huge doses corticosteroids immediately. Hearing loss and tinnitus cured.

In 2 days I got steroids for 25 days...

Got terrible tinnitus & hyperacusis, at its worst it was 10/10 from benzos and other drugs and is now cured 90% after 10 months.

Tinnitus & hyperacusis can cured on their own if you don't get psychiatric drugs.

Benzos will make your tinnitus and hyperacusis so bad that you want to commit suicide.

I will not make the same mistake a 4th time...

I followed your advice and went off benzos, and I already see an improvement in my sleep and tinnitus. Hope it lasts. And thanks, very good advice.

In the first few days after tinnitus onset, I only averaged about 20-30 minutes of sleep a day--in about 5-min. increments. It was a long slog for several months before my sleep returned to pre-onset levels, which was not very good quality sleep to begin with.

I purchased a home mHBOT unit in September, and one of the first benefits I noticed was vastly improved sleep. It was the first real reduction in tinnitus volume and intensity since onset (about 15% or so). I now expect my tinnitus to improve in the coming months as I continue to sleep better. But I also think the HBOT is going to have direct impact on my brain and tinnitus as well.

I've been taking aprazolam 0'5 mg per day for the last 3 months now (since onset) and they have been doing me a lot of good. If I keep on taking them will I just end up making a big mistak?

Could you indicate the kind of benzo, the dosage and the period of time that you were taking to understand better the benzo withdrawal circumstances? What was your main symptom beside the increased T?
