So, I have a choice. Be nauseous 24/7 and feel like my head has been hit like a baseball bat OR feel somewhat normal, but be tired. I did some major damage to myself 6 months ago, and I've been slightly nauseous and had balance issues since then. Luckily Betaserc medication helps, but makes me tired.

Out of curiosity, can you share more about how it helps specifically? On the tinnitus front. If so, has it noticeably lowered the volume or made it less intrusive? Does it reduce the pressure feeling in your head?
Anxiety has been killing me. T doesn't even seem that much worse. More bothersome than usual? Sure. But the way that my ears FEEL is getting to me. I can't help but to feel like I'm on borrowed time.
LukeYoung
How do the feel
Sodlin
if u focus on something hard enough u WILL feel every sensation around that area so that is normal. Of course ur thinking alot about ur ears which tension muscles around the that create "fullness", Warmness and a sense of awkwardness that will stay. Even AFTER you stop focusing on it it will most likely be lingering for 6-12 months. Its a total natural thing but very annoying.

@LukeYoung at least my right ear (the problem child) feels dull, sensitive, fatigued and full at times. left ear is okay but sometimes sensitivity here and there
Soon planning my end i don't want to exist anymore. Sorry fam
LukeYoung
It's a terrible feeling, but I'm sure you would be terribly missed. Hold on, hope for better.

First off, it's a lot harder than you think, second, if you really are going to do it, make sure you know exactly what you're doing or you might just end up making things a whole lot worse for your self... medically assisted is always the route one should take if going that way.

I thought you're starting Clomipramine anyway, don't you want to give that a chance first? There's no backsies.
Hi Jack, I saw you are from Czechia, can you please tell me which otoneurologist have you visited here or do you know any good doctor that can help with Tinnitus?
I'm thinking to get steroid shot in my ear to recover hearing loss, since I lost since last Friday, I done it 9 years ago before, now I'm thinking do the same, what do you guys think?
LukeYoung
If it was sudden hearing loss steroid usually works
R3vtune
I took it yesterday, no immediate improvement only small ones
hi @alanisnotadj

I see back in 2023 you talk about gabapentin helping with your hyperacusis and nox, but then I see your response in the linre thread about Duloxetine & Mirtazapine helping these. I'm hoping you can provide more insight into what helped more or was it more of a compounding effect? Also for the D and M, did you start at 30mg or work your way up?

If you read my intro I'm very much where you were regarding contacting agencies.

Thank you
Audiologist appointment next week and I guess the gist is to avoid every test besides the standard hearing test correct?
I am starting clomipramine soon i dont care. I need something for my pain.
lusiol
It seems to have an effect on quite a few people with hyperacusis, though again not everyone. You'll have to see if you tolerate the molecule well, since its most interesting effects appear mainly at the maximum dose of 200–250 mg. I hope it works for you.
I want to get better. I will have to get better for my family, for my brother and for my girlfriend. I am a good human being and i know it. I have a pure heart. I never harmed anyone else besides myself. I have to be better. I have to heal. Even if not physhically but mentally. This shit gotta hardened me i want to live i want to be a good person again. Make people laugh again even if i stay depressed my whole life. I want to make my mom happy.
New here. Found this site while reviewing Quietum Plus. Does anyone know if this supplement really works?

Nothing in the market right now works. If something or someone tries to tell you otheriwse, they are trying to scam you.

I was at the checkout in a DIY store, waiting for the customer in front of me to be served. A young lady—she was cheerful and upbeat, and that clearly rubbed off on the employee behind the counter. I don't get out much anymore because of my hyperacusis and tinnitus. It was confronting: people are happy and carefree. I don't know that feeling anymore; I can't enjoy anything. Not even silence, because it never exists. I think tinnitus and hyperacusis are among the most horrific conditions out there. It's enough to make anyone depressed.
I've been having these sudden spikes in my tinnitus lately. Obviously really annoying but has anybody been experiencing this due to the weather? ChatGPT said that the sudden drop in Barometric Pressure coincides with my spikes, but other factors like emotions and sinus congestion could be contributing. Dealing with another sudden spike but my sinuses seem to be just fine now.
cjbhab
I don't know why but my T always seems to be awful in October/November when the weather is changing. It has to be coincidence, that can't be a thing.
Varda
Yup mine spikes before it rains when the air pressure drops. I think when the air pressure drops, fluid pressure in the ear rises, pushes on the sensors, and can make tinnitus worse.

@cjbhab actually my partner was telling me the same thing that he notices that I complain more about my tinnitus when it gets colder. I think it definitely has to do with that. The other day I went to rugby training and before I started anything my tinnitus went mental. I think it was environmental due to the cold front coming in.
I'm thinking go to ENT today, as I barely hear my voice in two mornings now, it's quite annoying to deal with this, but good news is vibration, and echo is gone, well vibration almost gone, but the ringing is back to normal which doesn't bother me much than my hearing right now.
I want to die, my tinnitus has only gotten worse over the past six years.
Now I hear something like the sound of a vacuum cleaner, and my other sounds are more intense (high-pitched sounds, electrical sounds, the sound of a dental drill, Morse code, the sound of pipes). I can't sleep at all :(
I live locked up in my home, I don't know what is causing this worsening. Could it be the Mirtazapine?
Luman
I do not know the answer to that question, but perhaps the Mirtazapone negatively affects your mind's ability to deal with the tinnitus.
Kam75
I've been taking Mirtazapine for sleep for 4 years now. The 2 first years my sleep was not so bad. So I started to resume a social life 2 years ago but my tinnitus worsen dramatically. I haven't been to any party or loud place for more than one year and a half (and I will never go back to any party aymore). But my tinnitus keeps worsening. So it's hard for me to say if it is really Mirtazapine or Alimemazine or Quetiapine that make it worse... Life is so complicated with this damn disease :(

hold on tight my friend
thanks for asking. No I haven't. I'm having a really bad day today. I washed my hair for the first time in 2 weeks and I've caused a major spike. I was on antibiotics last week and I took a sleeping tablet every day with the 7 day course. Last night was my first night off antibiotics and sleeping pills and I only slept for about an hour. Think I'm hooked on the sleeping tablets even though I only get about 4 hours sleep with them, its still better than the usual none or one hour.

I'm demented with this. I fight suicidal thoughts every day. I'm seeing a private audiologist who specialises in hyperacusis but that too is really extreme. I just don't have the energy to kill myself but this is so difficult to live with. Are you better? How do you cope with this?
henkess
I´m sorry to hear that, seems very hard to deal with. I recognize the feeling, for the first year i was struggling alot. I hade pulsating tinnitus and hyperacusis, hard to sleep. Tried strong sleeping pills, but i got hallucinations so i had to quit. Now i have propavan. My pulsating tinnitus dissapered after i got my blood pressure better. Still have tinnitus. My sleep and hyperacusis was better after one year. Was doing alot of things outside and started training and took pre workout,b5,b12. Now i have tensor tympani after my gerd operation, its impossible to get uses to. But with pottasium, magnesium, muscle relaxant, its dissapers after around 5 hours.

I think you can get better to, hope you get better soon:)
Today i was outside in the "factory" where i work and i needed to get past someone that was using an angle grinder. Was like 1 metre away from him when he started to cut thru a big pipe. Very uncomfortable but had mine SNR 35 DB moldex earplugs so i think i will be safe.
Kingsfan if it's by allergies then it be easier to recover from it, I'm hoping it's a cold like my uncle said, but however unfortunately my cousin grandmother lives around here and smokes outside, so I'm not sure if Eustachian Tube Dysfunction caused by this.
Had a meeting today at my work. I use jabra speaker for teamcalls. I thought it was very "annoying to my ears" and double checked the volume after like 5 minutes into the meeting and it was on 60% (i always got it on 20% on volume). Probably my coworkers borrowed it and increased the sounds and didnt tell me. Dont think that will hurt me but it is very annoying and aggrevated my ears quite alot.
I'm having a tough day today, and that's probably just the result of a weekend where I had to give up my comfortable solitude for two days.
Twenty-two months later I begin to resume my hobbies
cjbhab
nice. what are your hobbies?
Ozhe
They are small hobbies like going to the gym, turning on the computers, doing graphic design, and I already listen to soft music. It's a great achievement because I've been like a vegetable all this time.
I wish it could stay this way forever, for the rest of my life. The problems weren't as furious today as they are most of the time.
