The tinnitus just keeps getting worse. I stay in my room or the hallway in quiet. Doesn't seem to matter.
Currently trying to not care about my tinnitus and hyperacusis and it's actually working. Tinnitus is less reactive and when it is, it doesn't last long (except for the 2 days of ambulance siren phantom noise I got lol)
I have made up my mind. I will not take a Xanax or other benzos before my medical procedure. The risk of a spike not worth it. Now I need to find a way to calm myself enough to be able to go through with the procedure.
Feeling really down. I'm so tired of having to live with this. The psychological and emotional burden of trying to be strong and carry on through every major spike has slowly chipped away at my resolve each time. It's so loud, louder than everything. Nothing can mask it. This is hell

Thank you for the support friends. In the last 24 hours I have learned that it is ok to let go and cry it out sometimes. I am lucky to have a supportive partner.
It may take months to habituate to this new increased T, and maybe I never will, but for now all I can do is to carry on

"maybe I never will" it is day by day. You will habituate! We will HABITUATE!

Right there with you!
Great, now trying to deal with a new sudden reactive tone/distortion on top of sounds, after 4 years with tinnitus, SBUTT's, scary inner ear sensations, TTTS, MEM, tinnitus spikes etc, now this. Shit keeps piling up. Do you think this can go away? After waking up it seems gone, and ramps up towards the night mostly.
Spent 3,5 hours at a really loud indoors fair. Averaging around 85-90dB. Was using my Sony ANC headphones and the new calmer extra, but feeling like it was not enough and I should have done more.. but it is what it is now. T feels bit more intrusive, but trying to keep anxiety at bay and look forward.
TU Delft has announced a 2nd symposium on Tinnitus (June 11th). We could expect results of a bimodal device. Who'd like to go to the event with me?

Not a believer.

@Ken219 Well, they seem to believe in the device, given the website and the upcoming presentation.
Hey, i'm curious about possible treatments

@hunu92 I am still searching myself and I'm skeptical to be honest. It's still an unknown area. There may be some places but results I'm not sure on either. I believe there is positive results for some people.

There is spi-1005 in close future they've completed all tests, cil001 and rincell1 waitin for them. Drug development is like they find it and start to test it for 10 years so if there is something in somewhere i'm curious about it. can co anywhere in the world to take it
LovableGamer
@hunu92 If you are sure. I would be cautious but I do know of Dr. Minbo Shim. I know two from this forum have gone to him in Korea. There is also those who I believe went to Stem Cells 21 in Thailand.
Had an encounter with the producer of the highest dB sound you can typically encounter: an ambulance! I was fewer than 2 meters away and got an earful of siren. Great. Will keep writing some updates.
Another gym incident. I am so frustrated. Some guy noisily adjusting the squat rack and then crashing the machines even though I asked him not to. And I went during the off-hours. Losing hope.
Ahh... two minutes strolling round the peaceful garden to get a bit of vitamin D and decompress... Oh, hello mister helicopter wonder where you're flyin-OH MY GOD MY EARS HURT!
When i was digging without earplugs i hit a stone extremly hard with my shovel and it made a superloud KLING sound... Im trying to just "go with the flow" more now and not go into panicmode everytime i hear something loud, i also try to not overprotect when i do normal not loud stuff (under 70 DB). Hope i dont spike, just wanted to do some relaxing gardening. -.-
Hi Suz, how are you doing now? I saw you had a lot of trouble with nasal steroid spray... they didn't do me any favours either.
Its hard to do stuff in the garden atm. Need to cut stones with a grinder so i have had my dad come to cut them for me since its to loud for me. Tried drill and use a chisel but got around 110DB so i didnt dare to challenge it. Third time my dad is here now to help me cut for like 2-3 minutes each time... Man he most think im supersilly.
I love my life, my wife, and my kids. So its a shame tinnitus gets to steer the ship. Everything now revoles around this horrid condition and I hate it.
My noisy left ear really sucks. I get relief when I sleep but when I wake up it rears its ugly head in my left ear. I m still looking for some permanent relief.
3/3:Just wanted to come on here and update.. It doesn't always resolve itself. Ive read that for most people it gets better with time, for me it didn't. Astonishingly, I don't have tinnitus and I don't think I have hearing loss so at least I have that. Also, I get some pain but not that much and, like I previously mentioned, my condition never worsened.
2/3 My tolerance is not good so I am constantly 'on guard' but I am pleased to say I didn't get worse? I also struggle with high frequency sounds which means I always need to be wearing ear plugs when I leave my house because those noises are distressing, not because I believe they are harming me. I think I have TTS too because my main symptoms are aural fullness and feeling my ear drum 'jump'.
