Well the point is that it will help with relax and sleep and that in itself may help the noise to go down. Many people here are using anti depressants or anti anxiety benzoes orsleeping pills. If they or we can use the oil instead of chemical meds, then it would be better no?

No. For most people, it's actually the opposite. They initially have mild hyperacusis and go into denial, telling themselves that it's anxiety or something. Then it gets unmistakably worse. In my case, it was caused by an autoimmune disease. Anti-anxiety medication actually makes my condition worse.

I think if you are coming off of an anti anxiety drug it's normal to have increases anxiety which makes the tinnitus seem louder.

I agree with @citigirl13 Anti-depressants wont change your tinnitus but they will help you not to care:) Im on them myself right now and am feeling happy and content:) My sleeping problems caused by anxiety have also left.
