I agree. Ear plugs are supposed to help but the worse the tinnitus is, the worse it for wearing plugs because the tinnitus is isolated or not masked at all as outside noise is blocked off. I don't know if this is a good idea but noise cancelling headphones might muffle the wind enough? I dunno.

Isn’t the counter sound outside the hearing range? I use mine all the time and haven’t noticed an increase in my T or any adverse effect. I keep my volume low though because of the cancellation effect.

If you need to block out noise, it is better you use earmuffs and / or foam earplugs. You do not need to shell out 300 bucks for noise cancelling headphones.

While some folks like their noise cancelling headphones, others have had issues. The simple answer is for you to return them and stay away from them. A pair of passive ear muffs can get the same thing done for less for you.

Yes I only use my phone speaker with a noise cancellation app, the white noise. I only put it in low volume near my pillow it cancels the sound and puts me to sleep like a baby, and after that the app shuts itself down after like 15 to 20 minutes.

Yes, but they have their limits. They can't cancel out everything. They'll do a pretty good job at cancelling out most "normal sound" but don't expect them to be perfect in handling acoustic trauma bursts (like a gunshot): they are not designed to protect you against that.
