Yep it's happened to me with congestion due to seasonal allergies. But once I took Claritin for a few days to clear that up, my problem was resolved.

Not too sure about not tapering, but I was always advised that prednisolone should be tapered, even by vets when giving my dogs a short course for skin allergies.

I was on it for only a week. I don't have any allergies and the Doxycycline did a lot more damage to me besides just the tinnitus. Has anyone ever recovered from a drug induced tinnitus event? Has anyone pursued being damaged by this awful drug?

@TheRinger , Welcome to Tinnitus Talk. Try a nasil spray and antihistamines for allergies as the extra mucous can cause tinnitus. Try stream inhalation also to help clear your tubes. Love glynis

@Arianaj, It definitely sounds like a nasal problem and could be down to allergies. When you go to bed you can get post nasal drip going down the back of your throat that enters your eustachian tubes. You might get a snotty taste in your mouth as a symptom. The nasal spray will help. Love...

How do we know it's allergies causing ear burning and not a damaged cochlea? Could an infection inside the cochlea being causing this? You need to find a good doctor to investigate, there's nothing we can do but speculate.
