About eye protection with this IR lamp : a DIY lens hood made out of paper would be a good protection too. It would also help to focus the beam towards the ear.

I found this lamp in my country too... I hardly believe I could start a "serious" LLLT treatment with this, but why not...

How will you get a pulse effect (apart from switching on and off every second) ?

      It's 850nm, shouldn't you complete the therapy with 620nm ?

don't waste your time with the shorter wavelenghts those cannot penetrate very deep as per studies I posted.
That's why they don't use these on brain injuries

no pulse, just move it around when it gets too hot
I will receive mine in a few days so I will know more how it comprares to the 10w polarized device I used before in terms of heat/power.

I will do a more detailed report once I get my hands on this. I also ordered the 10w light

with LED the risks of vertigo due to concentrated power/heat is less than laser so its less of an issue.

or build a simple pulse circuit at betteries level

How would you make a lens hood with paper? Just fold it in half and put it over your eyes?

The lens hood would be for the light ;)

Something that looks like that :
      4699_HB-7-Bayonet-Lens-Hood_front.png

So the IR beam can't go sideways. You press it against your ear.

hmm, the lens is pretty small, I feel like a hood extension like that would only make it more difficult to line it up/get the right angle, but let me know how you find it.

I received the light today and gave it a try
For the price this thing is surprisingly well built wiht a solid well machined and painted metal housing, slightly adjustable lense.
It's also tiny, you can carry this in your pocket.
The light beam is only faintly visible in a really dark place as its 850 but you get an idea of the beam size . Pulling the lense unit furthest away gives the narrowest beam which is 2-3 cm in diameter and about the right size to cover the ear.
It does give a slight warmth after a few minutes so it's not overly powerful I would think 10 to 15 minutes per ear is fine, I switched ear whenver it's getting too warm which took 5 minutes.
Like the reviews wrote it may be a bit less than the actual 5w.
Since it's not heating the skin very much a pulse is not needed.
The lense cover has slightly sharp edges so a bit of filing will be the next step other than that pretty impressive item for the price

You use it like that? I tend to angle it toward the back of the head so that it is shooting more down the canal? May switch to your method as it looks easier.

That looks hilarious, flashlight into the ear :D! It won't go through the eardrum!

IR lights on cameras, have been known to go through eyelids and cause impaired vision, when people used them for sleep monitoring. Even leading to permanent eye damage. So I'd assume they could pass through the eardrum.

It does look funny though you have to admit that Bobby.

I mean, could you imagine if a bunch of researchers arrived here in an effort to obtain info on what treatments we're trying only for them to be greeted with a picture of a man with a flashlight stuck down his ear canal:D

I don't know about you but I'd laugh my ass off!

Still though, it may be you who gets the last laugh in the end.

Funny or not, it's the same as a 2000$ professional-looking Chinese laser stuck down the canal. So I'll try that, at least it's 12$

Trust me you don't look any better with lucky laser probes stuck into the ears either

This flash light is really neat - I also received an IR camera will do a few tests on how much light goes past the hand etc...

Just started using Wildren's laser yesterday. I think my T spiked while I was using it but maybe I was focusing on it too much. I will have to use it in the morning when my T is low to compare. Some temporary new tones appeared while using it though.

      Nothing to report yet...

But I don't know if I'm placing the thing right. If i use the thing that goes around the ear, the proes doesn't go deep in the ear canal, i don't get a seal like with an in ear earphone or an earplug. To get that seal I have to insert he probes deeper but they don't stick so I'd have to hold them this way which is anoying. I don't know if it's really important... If I don't see any changes I'll try that way.

Lol I know but I'd rather someone walk in on me using what looks like a proper medical device as apposed to seeing me sitting in my room with two flashlights hanging out of my ears:D

It's the equivalent of someone doing home laser eye surgery on themselves using a lamp.

Still though, if it works who am I to say anything, keep us posted.

comparing LLLT to LASIK is like comparing using a heating pad for back pain to undergoing spinal fusion surgery. It's an unfocused light that you're shining at your head - not having machine precision surgery.

If there was a proper medical procedure like LASIK to stop this nonsense we'd all be camping out on the queue like it was the night before black Friday.

@FERNANDO GIL after 2 years of LLLT and Stem Cells - potentially one of the most aggressive treatments this site has seen - can you outline your healing progress?

Need some advice on this. I've seen a lot people talking about Dr Wilden's home device but seems like there has been more talk about the Lucky Laser lately. Is one better than the other or are people opting for the Lucky not because it's better but because it's a slightly lower price point?

For those of us living in the USA here is the run down on obtaining a Lucky Laser. Lulu sent me an email describing the run down.

The lucky laser is not FDA approved so the US government will stop it at customs. She has a business partner in America that helps push the product through customs, his name is Mr. Sion Kava. You pay Lulu the initial $1,818.00 (two probed device) with T/T wire transfer and you give Mr Sion Kava $218.00 for the shipping handling. Once Mr. Sion Kava gets the product, he ships it to you.

You can thank the US Government for making this a complicated process lol.
