I’m sorry Dave. I may be new here but I’m sorry to hear about your wife passing. I also have read your posts and know that you also suffer from severe tinnitus but anyway I’m sorry to hear what happened.

 

Dave... I am so fucking sorry. My father suffered from advanced throat and lung cancer for many years so you have my deepest empathy. I echo all of the sentiments here, and please know you are not alone.

 

This is tragic news - my condolences to you and your family, Jazzer. We haven't spoken much but you are an invaluable contributor to this forum and have a big heart.

I have outlived my entire immediate family.

I understand grief.

I also understand how important it is to feel loved, supported, and cared about.

I wake up each morning
And what do I see?
a person who’s loving
And caring - that’s me.

I’m filled with contentment,
I try not to judge,
For that is the job
Of the dear Lord above!

I don’t hold resentment;
I never do “hate”,
It’s a waster of energy
an unhappy state.

My problems are few
As I solve them at best.
Unsolvable ones - well,
I lay them to rest.

On my shit pile I place them
And there they ferment
And if I revisit
They’ve ‘got up and went’

Forgiveness is crucial
A tough nut to crack
But revenge hurts the vengeful
That’s not what I’m at.

So, on waking each morning
I get up and smile.
A new day awaits me -

Dave, I'm deeply sorry to hear of your loss. I remember that you had sent us pictures of you and your lovely wife and the first thought that came to mind is that you had married a true gem. It's not easy to carry this loss, but I am certain that you and your family will find the strength to get through by treasuring and recollecting the nice memories that you have of Silvia.

@Jazzer, so sorry to hear about the loss of your precious wife Sylvia. I lost an older brother in early October unexpectedly. It’s a tough situation to understand, just that life is so fragile. Nothing is guaranteed in this life. You have my sincere sympathy.

Although we've never communicated directly, I have read quite a few of your posts. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your precious Sylvia. Having experienced the loss of my soulmate some time ago, I know that there is never enough time spent with those we love so deeply, no matter how long we've known them. All one can do is relish those cherished moments and be grateful that we had the opportunity to know and love such a person. Still, it is difficult knowing that we must continue on without them, until such time that we are called. Please know that you're in my thoughts & prayers.

On Sunday 18th August 2019 I woke up and went downstairs to make Sylvie her usual cup of tea.

When I returned, five minutes later, Sylvie told me that she had written a poem.
I read it and could hardly believe it.

It encapsulates the profound wisdom of her philosophy of life.
She is quite simply my angel.
