Because I have been watching the thread and don't invest my time much on anything else with this forum? Honestly, much of this site is depressing, filled with cynicism and hopelessness. I used to be extremely suicidal, so I would prefer to avoid that. Whether you think this is a scam or not, I don't, and I have read enough to where I have no reason to believe that it is. The discussion of Minbo Shim gave me hope, and gave me more of a reason to keep moving with college and everything else. Like I said, I had enough reasons to believe he was real after all that research I've done, and John has done, but I couldn't know until somebody went there to try it out, which John has.

John has my sincerest gratitude. Thanks to him, I don't feel as lost as I used to be, and I feel more eager to work on improving my life.

      Interesting.

What is PRP? And what is the clinic's website?

It is very interesting to see how people are still very skeptical of Neuromod even after patient testimonials, forum testimonials & a Q&A, but after one report about a little known experimental procedure people are already jumping on board for triple the price.

I’m not saying it works or doesn’t work, I’m just saying the difference in skepticism between the two treatments are almost polar opposite.

      Very interesting...

Just on a technical note @JohnAdams, why did you need to have as many as 72 intratympanic injections over 12 days? That's 6 per day averaged. Isn't one per day enough, considering your head position can hold whatever he's injecting for a period of time without dissipating. Are that many shots really necessary?

      Even according to his website

      http://cmclinics.com/category/about-our-clinic/

I usually do intratympanic injections every 2~3 days(twice or 3 times a week) for 2weeks, total 4~6 times.

I am optimistic about both treatments.

Also curing hearing loss is far more of a consistent fix then approaching tinnitus from a neurological angle.

according to the inaccurate outdated uselesss tonal audiogram

Hearing health is centric to how well one hears 50hz-20khz in complex environment of noise (such as music), not just pure tones and human speech. Hearing loss outside of speech range can lead to tinnitus.

Being super technical about how the cochlea and how it works is important when it comes to hidden hearing loss, tinnitus and noise induced pain. Basing a model of hearing loss around the human voice range preception is like a flat Earth model because the Earth looks flat from a surface level.

I had an audiogram with background noise. I'm just wondering if this will also work with moderate hearing loss, clearly it works for mild hearing loss.

Where are you going with this? I understand there may be more hearing loss... I’m just wondering if this will work for greater hearing loss than mild...

Why are some folks jumping down this man's throat regarding his treatment? Just sit back and wait for updates rather than interrogating him. Do y'all really think @JohnAdams would make this entire story up just because he can be a bit abrasive at times? And don't you think if he were to fabricate a story, that he would say he was flat out cured rather than just improved? My bullshit detector is quite finely tuned, and I'm just not getting that vibe here.

Been trying to log on for two weeks now, the internet is awful here in Laos, a developing country... so finally got on.

John Adams, very happy and proud of you. Courageous indeed, the shots must have been a doozy. Congrats man... keep us posted, the good and bad. I am grateful you have been so transparent and quick to give feedback. It must be great to see your family with a new lease on life. Super happy for you JA.

      3 questions.

      1) Is listening to soft music enjoyable?
      2) How did you find the flat in Korea. Would be helpful to know, when I get there.
      3) How was the extraction from the pelvis? Were you awake?

Yes, it will help, but it will require more treatments before you can get a more normal level result. Not too much though, but it will cost a good bit of money. I have slight hearing loss in both ears. Both normal levels, but still bad, and soooo much ringing.

I recommend sending Shim an email with your audiogram for a clearer answer.

It's probably too early to tell about the music.

As long as it’ll help I’m good, you’re lucky, you’ll for sure heal :) and be in silence. I rather not right now, though it does worry me that if it doesn’t help, I’ll still be living these hell years for nothing until I find out it won’t help.

Yep. And it wasnt just PRP. PRP is the main thing, but as he has stated the effect is from growth factors, which PRP, as well as other things contain.

      1) Haven't really tried yet.
To be honest, I feel like I can hear more clearly but this is a subjective feeling. The real measure will be when I get another hearing test here in several weeks.
      2) AirBnb. I recommend this place called Cozy House in Gangbuk-gu.
There is a convenience store like 200 feet from the front door, and the clinic in Solsaem is a 15 minute walk from there. It's also very near some really good, really cheap restaurants.
      3) Hurts. Yes awake.

I sent the guy an email.

So you’ve had the injection now. Do you need to go back? Is the theory that the improvements will take 2-3 months and then... that’s that?

Well, it depends on my hearing status before hand and the length of time I've had hearing loss and my age and overall health.

Yes I've had 72 injections into my right and left ear, most of them in my left.

I hope "that's that". As of now my right ear feels like a new ear. I'm just waiting and hoping that my left ear catches up but it was more damaged than my right. I hope I don't need to go back, but if my tinnitus doesn't go down as much as I'd like, and I have the time and money, I would certainly go back.

It would be really nice if this procedure was legal in the United States and Europe. It's definitely safe. You can't reject your own blood. Plus PRP is very good at inducing healing. I've had 72 injections in my ears over 2 weeks and my eardrums are totally fine. There's no good reason at all why I shouldn't be able to go to an ENT down the street and have this procedure done.

Ask him. Also, before I ever met him I posted a bunch of different science journal articles that basically explain the exact science behind this. Go look at the original Minbo Shim thread and ignore the detractors, they have no idea what they are talking about. There are 3 main papers.
      1. The one about PRP restoring smelling
      2. The one about IGF-1 vs Dexamethasone in SSHL
      3. One about mesenchymal stem cells being progenitor cells for hair cells in vitro

Read up on those and I can answer any questions that I can about those.

You have to understand that I don't feel comfortable just posting his exact process from start to finish on the internet.

      Music to my (damaged) ears!

I get so frustrated about PRP not being readily available.

I don’t want white noise apps and mindfulness advice, I want the ringing to stop.

What's dumb is that it is readily available, there's just nobody that can inject it in your eardrum, when it is actually a simple procedure that ENTs can do. PRP is safe and accelerates healing in many tissues and your body isn't going to reject it either, because it is basically your blood.

You said it depends on how long your ears have had hearing loss?? Is there a time window?? Also, do you think it’ll work for moderate hearing loss?

Are we even sure it's illegal to inject PRP into the eardrum in the United States? I'm going to call around and do some research.
