      BPPV
      Hi, this is my first post.

      A few days ago, I had a BPPV attack - my first - and for unknown reasons (I just woke up with it one morning).

      Fortunately, I was able to diagnose my self correctly and get help two days later in the form of the Epley maneuver. While I'm only slightly dizzy now, six days later - mostly just after I wake up - I've had ringing in my head since this happened. It doesn't seem to be more on side rather than the other (the BPPV was in my left ear). I does not change with position. It is constant and resembles the whitenoise from a TV set which is not set to a channel.

      Fortunately, it is not very loud - it is mainly when I'm alone with my own thoughts, that I'm aware of it.

      But my question to you, dear community, is if there is anybody here who has been my shoes - experienced this - and if so, can tell me how it progressed.

      Omnis i would recommend not sleeping on that side of your ear, avoid salt, sugar, msg, and try to keep your self hydrated.
      if the dizzy spells remains please make an appointment with an ENT doctor.

      @Omnis,
      Welcome to the forum! I think you should try to see an ENT as soon as possible. They may or may not be able to help but you should try to find out what is causing your symptoms.

      I've been told I likely have bppv. I've been experiencing random mild vertigo and dizziness. Sometimes it's bad enough I get a sway in my walk and I can't keel balance. Episodes can range between 3 minutes to 3 days. What I find weird is that I'll turn my head a certain way and it'll get better but when I turn my head the other way it gets worse.

      When it was really bad I woke up extreme heavy in my head. Super dizzy. I couldn't keep balance and I had the worst false sense of motion.

      Does this sound my bppv? I'm not sure. I've been told by another member who has it that I do. But I'm not sure entirely. Please do lemme know :)

      @Taylorslay

      If you are experiencing dizziness, vertigo and balance problems. You should explain this to your ENT doctor, so tests can be carried out on your auditory system. This needs proper investigation by someone that is medically qualified and will give you their professional opinion.

      @Omnis
      ENTs would most likely prescribe betahistine or similar. Mine did earlier this year when I developed extreme vertigo (ie couldnt walk, non stop merry-go-round) and the ENT didn’t even investigate - just wrote the prescription. It works very well though.
      I had positional vertigo come back a few weeks ago which I seem to have corrected, after many attempts, with Dr Carol Foster’s method (look up on YouTube). Got the otolith back in the right place I guess, who knows.

      @Taylorslay you said in another post it wasn’t vertigo (spinning around sensation), just dizziness. But what you describe above sounds like bppv.

      @glynis menieres would only be considered if hearing drops out with T at the same time as the vertigo, right? That’s what an ENT told me.

      @Gman I wanna say it's vertigo but I'm not sure exactly. Which is why I keep going back and forth.

      I'll move and the world will feel like it's moving. Having dizziness and a false sense of motion feel different. It feels like a mix. My world doesn't "spin" but it does feel like movement but mixed with dizziness. It's really weird. It'll get to a point I stumble and sway in my balance and have to grab on to objects for support.

      Try to see your local dr seeing as you can’t get a specialist appointment

      My parents said that if this persists after the holidays they will take me to the doctor. So I'll tell the doc's about it then.
