@GCS Taking care of ones ears and not exposing oneself to loud noises is not about being paranoid, it's plain common sense. You may not suffer any consequences now, but one day those 90 dBs could easily cause a permanent spike. I don't see how listening to loud music for a few minutes of fun could outweigh the detrimental risk of a permanent worsening. It's like asking for trouble in my opinion.

Atleast we are not deaf or blind or paralyzed. Some people need to put up with that and they are not dead. T suck, but not suicide level

Most with severe tinnitus would take being deaf, some blind. Not sure anyone wants to be paralyzed lol.

I have many problems but the only thing worse than current tinnitus was my prostatitis flare up. Lasted 6 months and half of the time felt like I was getting kicked in the nuts. Night sweats, vomiting and nonstop pain… whew

I realised it after reading about it as well. The weird thing is, I now believe I've had it for a long time (or always) because I remember that at times I was seeing in the distance "a group of small insects" (or so I thought). And of course i never gave it too much thought... I can't tell if it got worse with T either.

My father never told me he had tinnitus till I got it. Then he told me he has had it for ten years at that time. Then when I was debilitated by mine he acted unsympathetic like it’s not a big deal. He doesn’t have noxacusis though. If only he would have told me I likely would have taken better care of my ears. All other medical problems I was aware of I kept an eye on developing.

And he told me he had high blood pressure, a silent heart attack etc. Why not the tinnitus? It honestly ruined our relationship and I haven’t talked to him in 2 years over resentment of him not telling me and then acting like I should just get over my problems.

Remember that the guidelines, i.e. 80 dB for 8 hours and so on, are complete bullshit. 100 dB is L.O.U.D, an acoustic trauma.

Measured max volume on my car audio which gave me T. The max loudness is 105db. I plugged my ears as hard as I could and turned it up. 1/1
    28. GCS
      GCS
There is literally almost no difference in perceived loudness above 102db....
    29. GCS

If don't have a really stupid idea to test out how loud my car is for 5-6 seconds I would never got T. That shit is around 120db.
    30. GCS
      GCS
I just bought a db meter. 90db is already f.cking loud. If I purely listen to music, which is loud, it's around 75-80db.
