My hearing is perfect for a 23 years old person. I can hear up to 18k easily and no dips at all in my hearing. One stupid day got me T.

@GCS Sounds like an exceptionally good audiogram. Is your T loud? I personally believe T, in some cases, has less to do with objective hearing loss and more to do with the predisposition in the brain. Do any relatives have T too?

@GCS Sounds like it may run in the family. I have tinnitus 3 generations back as far as I know. Are the tones very high in frequency? Because high frequencies can be heard in most environments, even though they're not that loud. I have a few high frequency tones that can be heard outside.

One weird thing that has helped me is to walk outside while wearing earplugs. When it doesn't have any sound to compete with it sounds quieter for me, and after a while doesn't bother me much.

hey music producer here. tinnitus is not spoken about because it's the same effect as "do not drink and do not do drugs" people will not understand the after effect of either until it happens to them. unfortunately warning about such things in an event is "lame." and people will always want the music louder even though the actual sound engineer behind the event does not want to exceed it.

I have a decibel meter on my cell phone. I turn it on when I listen to music in my car so that I can be sure how loud it really is and I don’t rely on the bar displaying the volume on the stereo. I use it everywhere like restaurants etc. Sorry to hear this happened to you.
