None of these studies are blinded or have control groups. They're not very compelling as far as demonstrating that acupuncture does anything for tinnitus. If "laser acupuncture" has a 60% cure rate for tinnitus, I'll eat a hat.

Mine is just getting worse every day. Niacin 1,000 mg helps get it down for a bit but I never had hyperacusis before the acupuncture. Given there has been no clear cause for mine, it's hard to be hopeful. What I'd do to go back 1 year, June and July. By August it was all beginning to fall apart...

My electroacupuncture was intended to help with T. I feel neutral regarding "standard" acupuncture but I strongly discourage the use of electro-a anywhere near the head. Simply not worth the risk in my book. I so wish I could take it back....yea, I know, join the group...Ha!

Acupuncture is so helpful. I wish I had found it earlier. It just takes the anxiety and edge off. I find myself reacting less to tinnitus and just living my life.

That went away thankfully. I got better extremely slowly over three months, but am now in what I hope is a spike after a fire alarm went off in my house. That being said I highly recommend not doing any more electro-acupuncture.

I had the same experience in the early days when I tried this and Cranial Sacral massages. My tinnitus was quiet prior to the acupuncture, and my ears were screaming after.

It was TCM and yes there was a current/electrical muscle stimulation attached to the needles. He placed one in front of my ear and the surrounding on the side and back of my neck/base of my skull.
